http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer...ext-from-incognito-to-martin-used-racial-slur

Among the texts that Jonathan Martin made available to his parents, and then, eventually the Dolphins and the NFL, include those in which Richie Incognito refers to Martin, who is biracial, as a "half-n*****," according to a source who was privy to the communication.

There are several instances of threats as well, the sources said, and overall disturbing exchanges, including one in which Incognito refers to defecating in Martin's mouth.

Incognito also made reference to tracking down members of Martin's family and harming them in the texts as well, according to a source.

Cont'd ...

Incognito sounds like a real POS.

Being a Phins fan, I hated the pick up of Incognito because of his thugish behavior before. He always seems to play dirty and gets an unsportsmanlike penalty about every other game it seems. He is a piece of trash and needs to be kicked from the league.

Deadspin doin' work. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, as it appears Incognito Sr is also a POS.

Early this morning, a poster with the username "idrd1994" left an impassioned defense of Incognito on the FinHeaven message board. In it, he attacked both Martin and Mike Pouncey as "black brothers that do drugs on a regular basis," and asked readers to "pray [GM Jeff] Ireland and [coach Joe] Philbin die of AIDS." He blasts the team from top to bottom, claims Incognito is getting railroaded, and uses the "black people say the N-word in rap music" argument to dismiss claims that Incognito sent racial messages to Martin. He also implies that Martin has pondered suicide, and "does not belong in an NFL locker room."

Incognito is a POS. But the world needs a few people like him. You don't cowardly back away from people like this, allow them to put boo boo's on your feelings. You're a grown ass man that makes millions of dollars. Walk up to the asshole, tell him to cut the shit because you're both on the same team.

I agree about not letting bullies run shit, but the world doesn't need assholes like him.

We don't have all the FACTS and EVIDENTS. Meaning, we have no idea if Martin tried to stand up to Incognito and relented before/during/after Richie started making threats directed at Martin's ethnicity and family. Does Richie Incognito sound like the kind of guy that would tuck his tail and run if someone called him on his BS?

I could agree with your premise on it's face if this were garden variety bullying, but this sounds more and more like a racist sociopath picking on a fat mulatto dude. I'm not sure the two are comparable and will reserve judgment until all the facts and evidents are laid out for the court of my opinion.

All that said, I'm sticking to my guns that Incognito is most certainly a POS, probably because he was a fat kid raised by a POS dad.

Sorry, but that's some sadistic shit to "bully" (if that's even appropriate in this case) a guy that you already suspect has contemplated suicide three times.

I think this was a little more nuanced than a "Leave it to Beaver" bullying episode.

Theodore 'Beaver' Cleaver: Wally?
Wallace 'Wally' Cleaver: What, Beav?
Theodore 'Beaver' Cleaver: The rules are a lot easier on grownups than they are for little boys.
Wallace 'Wally' Cleaver: Sure they are, Beaver. The grownups are the ones that make the rules.

Wallace 'Wally' Cleaver: Hey, Beav, you want that Eddie Haskell and I should coach your team for you?
Theodore 'Beaver' Cleaver: It'd be neat, if you do, Wally, but that Eddie - he's a mean guy.
Wallace 'Wally' Cleaver: Well, I'll do most of the coachin'. Eddie will just kinda hang around.
Theodore 'Beaver' Cleaver: But he's the kind of guy that even hangs around mean.

People need to realize that the NFL is predominantly made up of profoundly stupid people. Stupid people who learned at an early age that there would be no repercussions for their violent, sociopathic behavior. Do people really believe that Hernandez is an aberration? He may have crossed a line that most don't, but most are cut from the same room temp IQ, gangbanging and/or rural, sh!tkicker Hee Haw cloth.

Just read one of many interviews with John Frank--a guy whose talent or toughness were beyond question--about what a fish out of water he was in an NFL locker room and how isolated he was from the mainstream of NFL culture because he didn't have the IQ of a table lamp.

That's the same thing I asked my co-workers when the Hernandez story broke and the idiots on HLN (that damn channel is always on in the break rooms) where asking stupid questions like "Why has there been more crime by athletes recently?" I mean, are people really that stupid to think that because they're suddenly making millions that they're any less prone to slipping into the kind of culture most seem to have emerged from?

Had a timely speaker today at our Rotary Club who talked about Bullying. He runs an Anti-Bullying program and speaks around the country. It was very interesting and thought provoking to hear what he had to say on bullying in general. He had little to say on the subject of what is occurring in Miami other than anyone can be bullied. I would highly recommend him based on his program today. You can check him out here http://www.mojoup.com/
