Buckeyes want out of Syracuse series

I have a question...

I am not a scheduling guru so I thought I'd ask you guys...Is it possible that OSU is asking out of the SU series to move up the two games with VaTech or some other opponent? I'm sure OSU would not ask out of two games without having the replacement games secured in prinicple.

That's an interesting question. We are clearly setting the bar for OOC scheduling, but there is a lapse coming up before we get to USC, Miami, etc. I applaud Tressel for taking on these big games. He prepared his guys well enough to be a fantastic Texas team, we just didn't execute well enough. FSU & Miami will not be as talented across the board, tho they will surely be tough tests for our squad.

I would love to get more airtime in Florida. Playing Texas was great for national recognition, but Florida & Georgia are key recruiting areas for OSU.

Also, playing an elite school every year OOC would probably compensate for the "Big Ten teams don't play a CCG" argument... and a high profile win is the best way to win the popularity contest that is the BCS.

I agree with those who suggest that Urban Meyer may be begging for a home-home series.

But pleezOHpleezOHpleeeezzz let it be FSU. Please!

It would be my first chance in 18 years to watch the Buckeyes without driving 6+ hours or getting on a plane.

And it is, of course, all about me.

So long as we replace 'em with a serious team. I don't want to bail on the 'Cuse and then schedule some crappy team. We need some post-Cooper cracks at the SEC IMO. Let's do a home and home with UF, GA, or LSU.

Are any of the non conference games for '07 or '08 decided yet? Just checked the OSU website, and they only list the Big Ten games.

The omission of Washington in '07 caught me off guard. I thought we still owed them a trip out west......
