Dublin Coffman/ Scioto

Nick Goings
Vince Workman
Mike Malfatt
Greg Simpson (football)
Roland Steele
Jay Richardson
Steve Winner
Fred Pagac jr.
Adam Olds

There was one who started it all for Dublin: Charlie Simon 75 or 76.
His career ended his freshman year because of a medical conditon. Was said to be beast on the field as a LB.

Dude what bout Alex Barrow or Kyle Ruhl? You forgot both of them

I graduated in 98 from Coffman, played with Pagac Jr. and Olds. Don't forget about a walk on named Duane Crooks, he only played his senior year of HS before walking on. Wasn't there a walk-on QB from Scioto that graduated HS in '00 or '01?

Westerville South (I only know up until the mid 90's, so beyond that, not really sure who tOSU might have had from WSHS)

FB/RB Brandon Joe
CB David Mitchell
LB Andy Katzenmoyer
LB Chris Kirk

Other notable players:
RB Ki-Jana Carter (PSU)
WR Lance Moore (Toledo)
Mr. Incredible (BP Poster)

We can now add Pentello to the list and I guess we can include Westerville (Central) kicker Ben Buchanan. Also Jeff Davidson, the lineman from Westerville (North).

Matt Trombitas (played baseball with my little brother )

I completely forgot about Duane - great dude

Dublin also sent a bunch of other athletes in soccer, lacrosse, etc.

No offense but Ryan Brewer was hardly the top player in the State. He was a good HS running back that put up big numbers and parlayed that into a Mr. Football.

If you honestly think he was the best player in the State then maybe you can explain why none of the major midwestern powers offered him a scholarship?

Not only did Ohio State pass on Ryan but so did Penn State, Notre Dame & TSUN (not to mention the likes of Wisconsion, Iowa, Purdue & Illinois). South Carolina was by far his biggest offer. The same South Carolina that is barely mid pack in the SEC at the best of times.

But of course 'ole foxy Lou showed em all. He stole the multi-talented Ryan Brewer away from the idiots up north. Ryan of course went on to set school & confernce records for both receiving & rushing and went on to be a first round pick in the NFL.

Oh wait...actually he had less than a thousand yards total offense over his entire career at a mid major school.

Hardly the accomplishments one would expect from the best player in the State of Ohio.

Tressel would have passed on him as well (Tyrell Sutton is 10x the RB Brewer was and never sniffed an offer), and Troy fans would have to find new delusional justifications.

For the sake of argument--I haven't read this until now--is the Mr. Football Award in fact given to what is considered by the Associated Press to be the top player in the state of Ohio? I shouldn't even have to argue with you beyond that.

Secondly, the kid had game. He was considered a preseason SEC all-american at least once as I recall. I personally hated the dude. I just remember the backlash on the web after that game he had against us and think many people forget the thoughts they had at the time, "why didn't we get him?" We burn scholarships on less talent then he had.
