Very sad, in my humble opinion. The obvious truth is that people don't mind the prejudice, or agree with it outright, but only want to maintain an aura of acceptance as much as socially necessary. While it may seem odd to some to imagine this prejudice being a "bad" viewpoint, it is only so to those that are not exposed to a wider culture, I can only assume. Oh well, I guess. . .

Suggestion... that Forum column use more inclusive/expansive titles

ie Recruiting -- FB Recruiting, Hoops Recruiting
ie Buckeyes -- FB Buckeyes, Hoops Buckeyes
ie Professional -- FB Professional, Hoops Professional, Baseball Professional

Thread titles can easily appear to be duplicates.. because Forum may read "Recruiting".. example is new thread today in Hoops Recruiting that is exactly the one we are very used to seeing in FB Recruiting .. "Scholarship Breakdown by Position"

My 2cents....

I have been a member on this board for a long time and though I am a fairly infrequent poster I have enjoyed reading the various threads and have contributed to a few. I have just finished reading through this mammoth thread and have a few comments of my own.
Firstly, I really enjoy the Open Discussion and Political Boards, I hope that they will remain a permanent feature of Buckeye Planet. Often I have been very impressed with the level of knowledge that some BP members have. I guess I should have dispensed some of those infamous rep points but I really have not paid too much attention to the chiclets and dings.
The locker room humor along with all of the "homo" stuff has amused me, for the most part, and living in hyper PC Seattle it can be refreshing to read and honest to God slur! As long as people take it in the spirit in which its intended, what's the harm? And even if it is not, there is not yet a Constitutional guarantee of protection from offense.
As to the insider/newbie angle, sure there is some inside baseball or perhaps best termed "inside BuckeyePlanet" to these boards. Since I do not post constantly I am not in the know about the constant intermember politics. Though I have wondered sometimes how anyone has the time to post thousands of times a year.
My only beef is, where did my visiting WSU fan Cougar head go? :sad: :sad: I have not seen it on my posts for a good long while.

In summary this is a great internet community and I find that I spend much more time here than at CougZone or CougFan.

wow... I never thought I'd have to issue a warning to a fellow mod :wink:

TSK... they were taken away when we made the upgrade and Clarity just hasn't had the time to put them back up as other things have come first.

I figured it must have been something like that. Perhaps I should have had my "sarcasm alert" on that statement. I figured that in keeping with the thread I should have something to bitch about no matter how minor! If the Cougar head comes back, then that is wonderful. If it doesn't, well I will still be around.

So why would Methomps need to be warned? Perhaps more "inside baseball" but I thought it was rather amusing when he stirred up the pot a bit! Perhaps you were being a wise guy as well.

I just noticed something, and it's not a big deal. Actually, this may not even be the right place for me to mention it. But I couldn't think of anywhere else to put it.

Anyway, some of the descriptions of the forums are a little out of date. Actually, "some" may not be the right word, because I only know of one: the political forum. It says that it will only exist until after the "upcoming" presidential election. I guess it might be referring to the 2008 presidential election.

Anyway, if it was referring to the 2004 presidential election, I'm not suggesting that the forum be removed, but that it just lose it's "temporary" status in the description. Assuming that's not too much work, that is.

Remove Political Forum ... check, will do. :)

Actually, the forum was to be a temporary, but sentiment was divided. There were some 'rough' times before the election and a good deal of headaches. It was decided to keep it afterward ... when thinks calmed down. Clarity may still want it temporary though ... :lol:

I think the Poli. forum is one of the best on here personally.
