Add another thing ......

I expect us to edge into the Top 25 over the next few weeks, as a few of the lower teams lose ... we will gain a few points.

Makes better press to have two top 25 teams playing in the Bowls ......

If we blow someone out in the Bowl game .... we will make it back inside the Top 20

Motor City Bowl?

scUM is headed to the Rose Bowl. After that, the Capital One Bowl gets first dibs on the B10. Then the Outback, then the Alamo Bowl. Then, the Motor City Bowl.

scUM is 1st in the B10, Iowa is 2nd, Wisconsin is 3rd, Northwestern is 4th, we are 5th and Purdue is sixth.

scUM = Rose Bowl
Iowa = Capital One Bowl
Wisconsin = Outback Bowl

At that point, the Alamo Bowl picks between Northwestern, tOSU and Purdue. If the Alamo Bowl picks Purdue or Northwestern, we're headed to the Motor City Bowl.

What bowl committee in their right mind would pick a 6-5 Northwestern or a 7-4 Purdue over a 7-4 Ohio State coming off a 37-21 pounding of the then-#7 team in the country (and Big Ten co-champion)? Granted, both those team beat us, but those were very close games on the road. Trust me, the Alamo Bowl knows how well Ohio State travels to bowl games.

Ohio State has a long, long history of history
as opposed to...? :tongue2:

thats one thing the players can thank the 12th man for. even when they have rough years like this, so long as they are bowl eligible they are almost 100% guaranteed a bowl game. wasn't it last year 2 different bowl organizers were fighting over who got tOSU?

I'm pretty sure the pecking order is like this:

1. Rose
2. Capital One
3. Outback
4. Alamo
5. Sun
6. Music City
7. Motor City

There is not f-ing way we get knocked down to the Motor City. I'd say 85% Alamo and 15% Sun if the Alamo for some odd reason picked Purdon't. I don't think Northwestern has a snowball's chance in hell of being picked over PU and OSU.

The Sun Bowl is also missing from that list. It picks after Alamo. I'm also pretty sure it's Music City (Nashville) that picks before Motor City, but I could be wrong on that.

Everything we're reading says that Alamo is deciding between us and Purdue, leaning towards us. Sun Bowl has already stated that if they get the shot at us that they're taking us.

So polish up your Stetson's, ya'll. We're goin' to Texas. :cool:

Keep in mind that Northwestern has to fly 4,000 miles to play Hawaii this weekend. If that game were in Evanston, Northwestern would tear them up (Hawaii flat out sucks on the road), but since it's here in Hawaii, Northwestern will have a hard time beating Hawaii...the Warriors play very tough in their house. If Northwestern were to lose or even win a close game to a team that has given up 69 and 70 points in two of their last four games, the Alamo Bowl will want no part of them.
