Keep in mind that Northwestern has to fly 4,000 miles to play Hawaii this weekend. If that game were in Evanston, Northwestern would tear them up (Hawaii flat out sucks on the road), but since it's here in Hawaii, Northwestern will have a hard time beating Hawaii...the Warriors play very tough in their house.

Just go root on the Rainbows and help us out here.

But What surprised me most is that Iowa State at 6-4 4-3 in the Big XII right now would play Oklahoma for the Big XII title? Are you kidding me? What would be even more rediculous is if they some how won?
And now from the sublime to the outrageous. A team with a losing record could be playing in the BIG12 slot in the BCS game. If, for instance, Iowa State had a 3-4 record in the Conference, and was tied for the North Disvision (but still winning the tie-beaker), while also having lost all three out of conference games, they would be 3-7 going into the Big12 championship game. And if they would win, they would represent the Big12 in the BCS Bowl game with a combined 4-7 record. Such is the silliness of the Playoff system.

Most of you know, but others may wonder, how can Iowa State (or anybody else have a 3-4 record and yet be division champs. Its because they play a couple of games against random teams from the other (Southern) division, and these games count in the conference standings. So if all six of the north teams lost both of their games to the south teams, they would start out 0-2, and then could go 3-2 within their division. Total: 3-4. Stupid.

They (the Big12) have a weird tie-breaker also. The first is head to head. That's O.K. Then they go with conference play, not total D-1 total season wins. So this same Iowa State could have other teams, not just in the conference, but actually within the division, with much better overall records, NOT go to bowls. A team with a final 7-5 record would (could be) be sitting at home while the theoretical Iowa State team ends up losing their bowl and has a final 4-8 record. Stupid.

Makes me glad, well, gladder, that the Buckeyes are in the Big10. Nice and tidy here.

The odds are more like Outback 5%, Alamo 85%, and Sun 10%. We have scUM and Iowa as co-champs and then Wiscy ahead of us. There go the Roses, Capital One and Outback. Alamo is ours.

Right on...I'm sure the Alamo would rather take OSU over Purdue anyways, seeing as though we travel better and it seems like Purdue ends up there almost every year. I would imagine they would prefer to have someone else in San Antonio for a change...

I am guessing we would face either Oklahoma State or Texas Tech...bring 'em on!

:stupid: tOSU in a bowl game means big bucks via OSU fans for cities. the city could care less who wins the game or what the teams records are. they want a sell out crowd and as many fans from out of town spending money locally as possible. very few programs have the kind of support tOSU does.

no disrespect....there really are no tie-ins after the rose and capital one.....

after that it is capitalism to the nth.....

as i said last year in saying the fiesta would take ohio state....money wins.....i got my ass kicked from the scumsouth board for telling them in late november that they were playing in the orange v. fla. state....

trust me....the bucks are in either the outback or the alamo......90% alamo.....

the sun will not get a sniff of the bucks.....

personally....i want the alamo...i think that will be great....prime time....national tv audience.....vs a 10:30 start time on a day with numerous other great games....

alamo....
