Buckeye b'ballers you may have forgotten

His dad taught at my Jr. High. He was the strangest guy.

 For some reason, spielman36 and I picked him as our "favorite player". Any time things weren't going the Buck's way, it was because Hodak didn't get enough minutes. We always figured the guy was AA capable, but for some reason, never got a shot.

Lighty wishes he had hops like Singleton. Went to Midnight Madness his...freshman year. Dude could jump out the gym.

In a contest for "Jumping out of the Gym", I would bet that there would be plenty of money in Lighty's corner.

To add one from my youth: Larry Bolden from Cleve. E. Tech Anybody remember Nate Sims from NYC. Promising, but blew out his knee after his freshman year.

No offense to Lighty, but my money, placed on Singleton, would win. I'm not talking pure vertical. I'm talking about explosiveness, especially with ball in hand going towards the rim, or above it.

Not diminishing Singleton either. Do you recall the rebound that Lighty snatched in the tourney his freshman year(Memphis?) in which his head was in LeBron-esque proximity to the rim?

Another name I didn't see: Dan Andreas from Sugar Creek.

very few names ive "forgotten" listed here. at the same time ive blocked everything from march 93 (the jj sprained ankle game) until redds frosh year out of my mind, even that season was awful, with a kid who could get into the paint and finish being the highlight. thats 5 or so years of pure misery. tickets could not be given away, literally....

Otis Winston could out jump them both... high-jumped in the mid-7s
Shaun Stonerook (pre-transfer)

When I was a HS frosh, he had a sick dunk on Dublin High in the regional semis...
He of the 0.0 gpa.

He's still playing in Europe. He has let his hair grow a bit since his OSU days.

No one mentioned Bill Hosket Sr. and Bill Hosket Jr. Both led Buckeye teams to final four finishes. And what about Robin Freeman, "The Man Who Built St. John arena." Or Joe Roberts ... look at the line up of the 1960 NCAA Champion Buckeye team and then at the line up of the 1961 and 62 NCAA runnner up Buckeyes. The difference? One mean ass power forward who blocked out and set picks that put defenders on their ass... Joe Roberts.

In the mid sixties Al Peters was the point guard for the bucks. He was injured and the Dispatch ran the story under the headline Buckeyes to Play with Peters Out.
