Buckeye b'ballers you may have forgotten

Troy Taylor

Troy & Ronnie Stokes were a heck of a tandem. Troy was the bigger scorer, Ronnie rebounded, defended.

Last regular season game for the two of them (somebody check me on this) and they're whomping Mich State, with Jud Heathcote on the bench sweating profusely (is there any other way?) and Troy threw up an alley oop for Stokes and he threw it down with two hands.

Stokes was 5'11" in his shoes, dude. He had thrown down several one handers in his career but that was the only two hander I remember. It was sweet.

wonder what Troy is doing now?

He used to taunt Bobby Knight, too. Everybody seemed to be afraid of Knight, and Troy used to grin at him when he went by. I always thought Knight was gonna turn Troy into Charlie Bauman (Clemson).

as for forgotten Buckeyes, How about Denny Meadors??? Somebody pull up his stats. And the best outside shooter of the 60s?? Steve Howell. Built like a linebacker, too! like... 6'5", 240.

Yeah but to go from that team the year before to the final 4..... I was happy for him....Who was the other guy from that roster the year before.... the other lone survivor with the guns? (and I mean arms)

Gerald Eaker, Charles Macon, etc?

or maybe Scott Gradney?

Last I recall, Troy was coaching a girls HS team around Columbus and actually took them to the final 4.

EDIT***

I think it's Mifflin now that I think about it.
