Buckeye autograph seekers, memorabilia collectors (all merged threads)

How much would you pay for a Troy Smith autograph?

Living in Texas...it's not like I can get a good hook up. I've been compiling an autograph collection for a few years, and I really wanted Smith's badly. I threw down $57.95 (counting shipping) for a signed mini helmet. I figure it was pretty reasonable for a heisman winner who could turn into a great pro....not to mention perhaps the best Buckeye in history. It's usually roughly $29.99 for a plain OSU mini helmet to begin with...so I assume doubling the cost for Smith's signature would be well worth it.

Anyone else spend for autographs or had to spend for a Smith one specifically?

That's a great deal IMO.. Went and met AJ Hawk at the local Cardboard Heroes and had an authentic Nike jersey signed and that was 50 for the autograph and 60 for the jersey (got lucky with a sale there!). 110 dollars all together for that. I plan on going IF they have the 06 seniors signing that they usually have and getting them to sign my Ohio State-Michigan program.

I got an 8 X 10 signed by both Troy and JT for Christmas. If you do buy an autograph, always make sure it comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Of course! First rule of memorabilia collecting!

Usually when they have in-store signings (at least Cardboard Heroes does), they give you certificates of authenticity for every item you get signed. Not an incredibly legit COA, but whatever...

Yeah but you better watch...some COA's could be easily "faked" if that is even the right word. All a COA is...is a piece of paper saying that the autograph is legit. You just have to trust the person selling it to you. I've see a lot of autographs out there on Ebay that are BS compared to the REAL DEAL when you get them done in person. Buyer BEWARE!
