Bruce Pearl (Auburn Head Coach, Ongoing Asshat)

THis is why I like this guy:

1. Tennessee men's basketball coach Bruce Pearl is everywhere. He was on press row scouting the first game, a job held down for the Buckeyes by the assistant coaches. Three hours before tipoff, Pearl, wearing his Volunteer orange, was taking pictures with tourists around the Alamo.

Uh-oh, guess I better translate this one.

CAN THE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM PLEASE SHOW UP AT THE NEXT MEN'S GAME AND TAKE OFF THEIR TOPS?

Hope that some of our slower folk can now follow along without the sarcasm font on!

Who do you think they are, OSU female rugby players?

I could see him leaving, but not for Iowa.

I heard he was an assistant under Tom Davis for 6 years. Still don't think leaving Tenn for a middle of the road program is in his best interest at this point.

I do agree though that he would leave for a "sexier" job.

The question is, and this is just one opinion, but would Bruce Pearl be half the target he is without Lofton? Lofton isn't the entire program, but talk about a kid who has done a lot for one school.

I think Pearl is a good coach regardless, just wondering if it weren't for Lofton if his name would carry so much weight. I don't think so.

Total speculation on my part, but after the reports of an expletive laced tirade directed at his players following the loss, did he burn any bridges or does he have a team to go back to in Tennessee next season?

That shit doesn't matter.

Coaches go into tirades all the time.

That team should have been ripped for blowing a 20 point lead.

Not a chance in hell he comes back to the Big Ten. The HS coaches in Illinois wouldn't even let him near their kids, and @ Iowa you need Chicago kids if you want to win. Anyone knowing his history would just laugh this one off.
