It is amazing how much the Tennessee fans and former coaches (who BTW all have moved on to other coaching jobs) celebrated OSU losing to Wichita. Now that they suck again, all UT has to root for now in basketball is Aaron Craft losing. And I thought the tweet by Steven Pearl that he would break Craft's leg before they would compete in basketball was out of line. He said he was just joking, but there's some real animosity there, he also tweeted that he wanted to get in a cage match with Craft for "charity" - I guess that's what they call revenge in Tennessee.

If OSU has another great year next season I may have to point out Tony Jones & Co. that they will have achieved less in their entire coaching career than Craft did in four years of college.

There's a reason that Pearl leaves every place he coaches in turmoil and angst. He's a big time richard cranium. However, I was at the FF in Detroit in 2009 and I saw he and Matta hanging out together yucking it up pretty well. They may actually be friends....I'm not sure. But of course it could be that Matta, who has class & dignity, was just trying to be nice.

From reading the tea leaves, I think the angst from the Tennessee coaches/Pearl clan is mostly towards Craft. They only root against OSU by extension, and I'd guess that once Craft is gone they won't have nearly as much of a rooting interest. I don't think the former UT coaches that are really in the know blame OSU for turning them in or something like that.

I saw Steven Pearl tweeting the other day about Craft not deserving BBQ sauce, it must have been in reference to the ad:

Wow. Love how they blame someone else for the cheating they were knowingly involved with. Um, and I guess Aaron was the one who lied to the NCAA about the whole thing right?

No respect for people who blame others for their own problems. Fuck the Pearls.

Former Tennessee assistant Steve Forbes joining Wichita State staff

Former Tennessee assistant Steve Forbes told CBSSports.com on Monday that he has reached an agreement to join Gregg Marshall's staff at Wichita State. This development means Forbes is the first person from Bruce Pearl's staff at Tennessee to re-enter the NCAA.

An official announcement is expected this week.

Forbes' deserved 2nd chance

"I was so excited and honored when coach Marshall asked me to join his staff," Forbes told CBSSports.com. "Coach Marshall is one of the top coaches in college basketball -- proving that with a historical run to the Final Four this past year. I have so much respect for him. In addition, I have a lifelong friendship with associate head coach Chris Jans and assistant coach Greg Heiar. So I'm thrilled to be working with such a talented staff and group of coaches that I have the utmost respect for."

Forbes is one of three former Tennessee assistants who was, along with Pearl, fired in March 2011 during an NCAA investigation rooted in a now infamous cookout Pearl held at his home in violation of NCAA bylaws.

Pearl was photographed at the cookout with Aaron Craft, a current star at Ohio State who was at the time a junior in high school and not allowed, according to NCAA bylaws, to be with Pearl anywhere off of the Tennessee campus. When presented with the photograph and asked about its origin by an NCAA investigator, Forbes and fellow assistants Jason Shay and Tony Jones essentially tried to cover for Pearl. They were caught off-guard and admittedly evasive. Consequently, each was given a one-year show-cause penalty that expired last August. Pearl was cited for unethical conduct and given a three-year show-cause penalty that will expire in August 2014. He's now an analyst for ESPN.
