I'm TRYING to be positive... many defensive gurus say you must be tough thru the middle... if Sean Jones is as promoted.. and if Pool is as promoted... these two safeties can go a long way with strengthening this defense, especially the run defense...

With two of the remaining teams already taking QBs in Rd 1... and the last half of a round generally have decent QBs (as validated that they are picking in the bottom half of a round) Charlie just may be there in Round 3...

NUUUUUUUGE to the Jets! :banger: Congrats Mike! Well deserved. I am starting to think Frye will be there in round 3. The only tean I see with a QB need is Miami, and I don't think they will go QB in round 2. I am now starting to think we will continue to plug defensive holes the rest of the way now. Would be great if Blackstock was still there in round 3.

It was very surprising at first, especially when you realize we just signed WR Kevin Johnson. I think it was just a matter of drafting the best available player, and I expect Mooch has confidence in Garcia when they finally give up on Harrington. I didn't really want the Lions to draft a QB this year anyway; I'd have rather picked up Derrick Johnston than Aaron Rodgers.

Frankly, I'm thrilled to pick up a player like Williams with only the #10 pick. Now we'll be fine when Charles Rogers breaks his collarbone again.

Wow... a Michigan fan and a Lions fan, I'm glad I'm not you ... j/k, I'm a Packer fan so I follow the Lions too. It should be a good pick because the division generally has shorter corners. The Packers drafted A. Carrol last year and he is only 5' 11" and Al Harris is 6' 1" (I think). If Detroit can get defensive line help this year I think they will be dangerous. Harrington has been terrable so far and Garcia won't be much better. Having two stud receivers won't matter if they can't get the ball to them.

If Jones completely recovers from his injury, the selection of Pool will give the Browns an excellent safety combination for years.

I like the Edwards pick and the Pool pick and the fact that they landed Frye in the 3rd round makes Day 1 a pretty good day all in all for the Browns. After watching Brown's drafts under the Bitch Davis regime, I am somewhat unaccustomed to this feeling.

You know, I actually like this draft so far. I'm sort of surprised Frye lasted till the 3rd but after the top 3 I knew there could be a drop then after Rodgers fell to GB I thought it was 50/50.

Michigan WR's typically stink at the next level but then again, Edwards is the best since Anthony Carter. The WR's the Browns presently have aren't that good guys. Sorry, but they're all #2's and #3's. They had to know Frye or Walter could end up at the 3 so why not get them a big time WR to play around with for a year or two before the QB comes in 2006. Heck, it wouldn't shock me to see Frye start at least one game this year. The kids smart and isn't afraid back there. I just hope they can figure out how to get rid of that wobble on the long balls.

I'm surprised by the #2 pick with Pool, but I understand why they did it. They needed that athletic center fielder and he's the best in the draft at that position. I think last year's drop in production with him was because of the Sooner's CB problems and he was stuck watching too much back there.

The 2 guys I thought they'd take with that #2 was Shaun Cody and Matt Roth. Especially Cody. He could play DE in a 3-4 and eat people up. I thought he'd be gone by that pick. Pool had to be the top guy on the defensive side of the board they had at that pick. Next year, I think he'll get reps at nickel back.

Overall, good draft so far. First time since the Browns came back I can say that.
