EPSN is saying that Favre has told the Vikings he'll remain retired.

Now somebody convince them that the story is over.

You know what is really sad? I got on the ESPN Mobile Website today after I heard that Jim Johnson had passed away and right on the top of the page was the headline story about Farve as well as two analysts columns about it's impact. You know what was nowhere to be found? Even the slightest mention of Johnson's passing away. It's as though the media that covers the NFL has blinders for anything other than Favre, and it seems that is just the way he wants it. For the longest time I respected Favre as one of the good guys of the league, but this will he or wont he of the last few years has changed how not only I but many others feel about him.

A long time respected Assistant Coach loses his battle with cancer and it takes a backseat at ESPN to the yearly soap opera that is Brett Favre, Sad.

Favre isn't an editor for ESPN. They choose their headlines.

I don't get all the animosity toward him. It's not like he was actively auditioning for work, making calls around the league. Teams have pursued him the last couple years, and he responded to them. If his phone wasn't ringing there would've been no stories.

Lots of HOFers bounce around late in their careers. The biggest difference these days is every time they take a dump 12 media outlets report it. That's what happens when you have 24/7 sports talk on a dozen channels - everything becomes a major story and they beat them to death.

Thank god this mind fuck is over. I love Brett Farve as a player but he has been driving me insane since his first retirement. A great player like Farve should go out with people applauding his career instead people are glad this ordeal is over.

Top 7 QB Ever... Greatest Statistical QB Ever..
