Uhhh...he's also 40. Of course they can milk it so he doesn't have to practice during the week etc., but then you get a finish like he had last year. However they look at it, this is a disaster in the making for the Vikings.

This is true and before he hurt his arm last year he was having a pretty good season for a 39 year old QB and helping the jets go from 4-12 to a winning record. I know alot of you dont like Favre but man the insults are comical..If the man wants to play let him play. If you dont like the constant coverage of him try not watching a 24 hours news network...Im just sayin...

No one says he shouldn't be allowed or able to play.

But if you don't like the responses of people here to his yearly prima donna Paris Hilton should I stay or should I go J-LO bitch routine, you don't have to read the thread.

Just sayin...

I just dont see why all the angst? is he making you miss a certain show? does it affect your fantasy football preperation? Look, post what you want, it just is amusing to me to read/hear all the bitching about him. Whatever makes you feel better

And my point to the last post is you seem to be belittling people who waste time trashing Favre because they're sick of seeing him...while at the same time wasting the time to trash people on a football message board. Or I could say...Why the love for Favre? Did he win you money? Do you know him personally? I could also say "Whatever makes you feel better" too, I guess. It's a message board...people post opinions here.

Where did I belittle anyone? I just pointed out I find it funny people are trashing him. Calling him a prima donna and a drama queen and then my fav... "Someone just fucking shoot Favre already". Thats all well and good but I just wanted to know exactly why it makes you all so angry? And thanks for the reminder that its a message board.

Oh and no I dont know him, and yes he has won me money before. I am a lifelong Green Bay fan and I tend to like the guys that play there.

It's like a commercial that gets played ALL the time. It may have been interesting at first, but after a while you just get tired of hearing about it. The NFL is a job, your supposed to be professional, and the fact that he treats this whole situation like a soap opera makes people angry. The fact that they cover it constantly like it's the most interesting thing in sports, when most people don't give a shit anymore gets on peoples nerves.

Well that's fine. You like Favre. I personally wouldn't say anything approaching "shoot him", but I don't think calling him a drama queen and a prima donna is especially out of line, considering the way he has acted since he was in the process of leaving the Packers. And it has gotten worse as he has retired and unretired more times than Roberto Duran or George Forman. Personally, I hated his guts as a player, only because I hated the Packers, but I respected the hell out of him for what he did out there. It may surprise you to know (and no, I don't assume you care) that part of my "angst" is that I am sad to see him tarnish his own legacy in the eyes of many by acting this way. Even the football media that used to cannonize him in a way that has only been approached by Tim Tebow have started reacting like his act is getting old.

Why would i not care? This is a message board so discussion is great. I did notice you were a Bears fan so I knew that some of your angst was probably the result of Favre and the Packers owning Chicago's ass (and I know Walter and the boys owned Green Bays ass for a loooong time) for the better part of his career (i had to take a shot). But thanks for this post. I just wanted to get past all the one liner shots at Favre to see exactly why people are so mad whenever his names comes up.

No SHIT?!

Yeah, actually my grandfather was from minnesota so I grew up a Vikings fan too. So I pretty much sucked down gallons of Hater-ade forever

Really I used to laugh, because you can't help but when he pulled win after win out of his ass at just the right moments (the bounce pass to Freeman off of the defender, for example), so what can you do. He was the ultimate gunslinger, Joe Namath only way better. He never acted this way before, he just wanted to go out and play. If he still did that, I don't think anyone would have any issues with him. He was the center of attention because he didn't try and be the center of attention...now he is acting more like Terell Owens than the Brett Favre I remember.

the viqueens too???? oh my lord i feel sorry for you...... anyways yeah I wasnt saying I was happy with the way he has acted or who he might sign with.....(shudder)... Just seems so weird to me to have it play out this way. I never envisioned his career ending anywhere else than the frozen tundra and the fact who could actually play for that damn dome team in minnesota is disgusting. Im to the point where i have to seperate the 2. The Green Bay Packers Favre and this guy...

oh well...Go Packers

If he wants to play, he can come out and say from the end of the year that he wants to play the next season. The "will he or won't he" routine he's been doing for years is what's tiresome. Every summer it's the same shit...and the past two years he's actually RETIRED. Play or don't play, just spare everybody this fucking dog and pony show every summer. I have zero respect for him anymore because of this shit. I'm convinced he's nothing more than an attention whore.
