Is Favre about to call audible?
He denies report that says he wants to end retirement, return to Packers

Associated Press

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Brett Favre dismissed an ESPN report that he's considering coming out of retirement as "all rumor."

Favre responded yesterday to the ESPN report by telling his hometown newspaper Web site, SunHerald.com in Gulfport, Miss., that "it's all rumor."
The paper reported that Favre sent a text message saying there's "no reason" for a media frenzy.
ESPN reported that an unidentified Packers source said Favre, 38, told coach Mike McCarthy in the past two weeks that he has the itch to play.
"The Packers have no reaction," team spokesman Jeff Blumb said.
Favre's agent, James "Bus" Cook, didn't return a message seeking comment. Packers general manager Ted Thompson and McCarthy were on vacation.

I would be willing to bet many players have an 'itch' to play the year after they retired - especially if it was one of their better years as both a player and a team.

Too bad the source on the story is ESPN.. not sayin' it won't happen (I think it's 50/50) but rather that ESPN is not a reliable source for news.

This soap opera is getting really old. The media loves Farve. Very over rated IMHO.

I agree. He has done NOTHING in his career. If only he won a few MVPs or set a few NFL records.... I mean he should have retired 10 years ago and saved the city of Green Bay the pain of watching him play. Maybe a mod will give you a GPA for your fantastic insight.
