Brett Favre Demands Trade To 1996 Packers

GREEN BAY?Three-time MVP and undisputed future Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre, disappointed with the Packers' refusal to aggressively pursue receiver Randy Moss and frustrated with his team's apparent indifference to making immediate improvements on offense, is demanding a trade to the team he feels will give him the best shot at winning a last Super Bowl ring before his retirement: the 1996 Green Bay Packers.

If you saw today's NFL Live, they had a big story about Brett and the rumors. Everything that has been going on lately about Brett wanting a trade has been a complete rumor. His agent denies any trade demands as well as Brett himself.

Oh, since Brett denies it, I'm sure it's false. :roll1:

Brett Favre is an ass. I'd be hard pressed to believe anything that comes from his mouth.

The part of him being furious with the packers certainly wasn't a rumor, regardless of whether he asked to be traded.

Like I asked, do you really believe last year's team was the most talented Brett played on? I don't find that anymore believable than this "excitement" about this team.

Favre comes to minicamp, throws support behind team

CHRIS JENKINS

Associated Press

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Brett Favre slammed both hands on the podium, wanting to be clear: He never suggested he couldn't win with this current group of Packers.
The Green Bay quarterback was trying to defuse a week's worth of comments. And while he was frustrated the Packers did not trade for Randy Moss, Favre said during minicamp Friday this was no knock on his teammates.
"Not once did I say anything about the guys I play with," Favre said at a news conference. "And I know that has been brought up, and I want proof that I said something about the guys I play with. Never did I say that."
Favre's appearance came after a tumultuous week in which he publicly complained about the Packers' front office, deflected reports that his agent had asked the team for a trade and considered skipping this weekend's mandatory minicamp to help plan parties for his daughter's high school graduation next week.

Favre pulled from Packers' OTAs with sore shoulder

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Brett Favre won't be doing any heavy throwing again for a while. Swinging a softball bat also might pose a challenge.
The Green Bay Packers quarterback said Thursday that he has a sore right shoulder -- his throwing shoulder -- which prematurely ended his participation in the organized team activities.
"I probably could practice, but it really don't make a lot of sense to go out and make it any worse," Favre said. "I think it's probably just tendinitis or something like that."

Brett Favre rejoined the Green Bay Packers yesterday with a heavy heart and a desire to resume preparations for the upcoming season.

The Green Bay quarterback was excused from Packers practices earlier in the week to return home to Mississippi for the funeral services of his wife's stepfather, Rocky Byrd, who died Saturday at 56 after a heart attack.
"As I was flying back up ... as much as any other time in my career ... I was ready to get back here and get on with football," Favre said during his first news conference of training camp. "If I wasn't playing, retired, and was at home, it would be much more difficult to be in that environment."

Good article

And because history has taught him so, Rodgers says he fully expects he'll see virtually no action in 2007. Just like last season. Just like the season before that, too. But this time around the mothballing will sting a little more, because for the first time in Rodgers' career, Packers decision makers and Rodgers think he is finally prepared to be the team's starting quarterback.

I'd just like to know how they made that determination.
"I will be ready to take over from day one ? in a year, if that's when it happens," said Rodgers, who has played in five games and completed 15 of 31 pass attempts for the Packers.

It can't be those career numbers????

-42 different players have been on the receiving end of a Brett Favre touchdown pass, and one will be etched into the record books with the next record-breaking touchdown.

-If Favre starts at quarterback on Sunday - which he is expected to do for the 241st straight game (261 including playoffs) - he will establish the league's second-longest starting streak on record, surpassing Vikings center Mick Tinglehoff (240). Only the Vikings' Jim Marshall (270) has a longer consecutive starting streak on record in league history.

I guess when you start 261 games at QB and play the majority of time in all of them, you're probably going to get some interceptions along the way.

Former top-10 pick WR Koren Robinson has been reinstated to the packers today after a year suspension. Like they needed another weapon for their strong 3 WR lineup. They could use a RB tho...
