Bret Bielema (HC Illinois)

Something more to cry about. Poor little guy:lol:

Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema would have preferred that running back Montee Ball stay grounded on his leaping, fourth-down rushing attempt that resulted in a fumble at the goal line with 2:46 left.

?When we were lining up to run that play, I was like, ?Don?t jump, don?t jump,? ? Bielema said. ?Because I knew that he was doing anything he could to get it in the end zone. You can?t discredit him for the effort.?

Ball said his record-tying day was bittersweet. He was hoping to redeem himself in overtime.

?It would have been perfect to score the winning touchdown in overtime and to break the record,? Ball said. ?But Ohio State played well.?

It was just a poor sequence offensively all around. They were more worried about breaking the record than tying the game IMO. They ended up chasing that 7 points for the rest of the game. Canada had no creativity, running Ball up the middle every play. Then Ball decides to try and Superman over everyone and stick the ball out, which almost always ends in disaster, case in point. It was an extremely heads-up play by the Wisconsin OL to grab Christian Bryant after he scooped the fumble, otherwise it would've been 21-7 and game over.

I am surprised Ball didn't get the first down on the prior play however.

Classic example of replay not being able to help. I have little doubt the spot was wrong, but the "mass of humanity" made it impossible to see where the ball was.

I was surprised that the Wiscy TE (I think it was a TE) was ruled down prior to his fumble, though. I thought it was pretty clear his leg had NOT hit the ground prior to him losing the football.

Yeah, they blew that one too. Overall not a real good night for the zebras.

Photo shop an AC/DC tee shirt and its him (sans the 20 point edge in IQ that Butthead had).

Ask and ye shall receive...

Excuse me? Wiscy had time outs, where this sentiment could have been expressed. Wiscy had practices beforehand. Since when does a coach score points by saying "I was thinking about how something should happen but decided not to tell my players"?

This is plain weird.

Deal with it Bret - it does not do any good to say afterwards that we should not have done it.
