Bret Bielema (HC Illinois)

http://espn.go.com/college-football...coach-proposes-big-ten-sec-football-challenge

Perhaps the first decent idea Bert's ever had. And the B1G10 and SEC the 2 kings of college football would rake in even more dough

"Let the best of the best play each other, and maybe the lower ones play each other week in and week out," Bielema said on Wednesday's SEC coaches teleconference. "Just reserve a week every year, it would be kind of a fun thing. People would get into that now. I've been in both leagues, and I have the utmost respect for both. It would be something kind of fun if you could just reserve that, and that might eliminate the whole need for an FCS [team]. Then you schedule three other opponents that are FBS and go.""Let the best of the best play each other, and maybe the lower ones play each other week in and week out,"

Bert literally described bowl season, and then thinks he's come up with some revolutionary idea.

This isn't really feasible anyways unless ESPN and co. want to start subsidizing teams for the loss of a home game every other year.

This is about the 5th time Bert has been forced to resort to stirring the B1G pot to gain national relevance. It's humorous too, considering he finally won a game of mild consequence.

Reminds me of Rex Ryan. Mildly successfull head coach that remains relevant only because of his antics and press conferences. Both are at places that welcome any sort of publicity in their otherwise boring and overlooked namesake.

Just sayin': Losing a conference game to an SEC West opponent on a blocked "chip shot" field goal. It couldn't happen to a bigger douche bag coach.

And then the "coup de gras" finale, the inevitable ending of a SEC game; a fight in the stands.

It doesn't get any better than that.........

On Saturday, Bielema made it clear he didn’t like Pittman’s move, even taking Arkansas players over to his house on Saturday.

"This one took place within the conference, and I just wanted Sam to address the linemen as to why this was happening," Bielema told reporters. "I thought that was the last thing he could do … so I just took them to him."
