Breaking down Urban Meyer's offense

Is this similar to the one-back offense that Saban runs at Alabama/does it incorporate elements of it? Just curious.

Power running with the QB is a unique situation offensively that Urban won't want to duplicate with Miller, because he obviously doesn't have a FB body type.

In 2010, Meyer and Addazio played Jordan Reed (now at TE) and Trey Burton (now at RB) in place of Brantley for certain plays. While not 240 lb., they are each pretty big. I wonder whether you might see Hyde or Smith occasionally line up as the QB to do what Braxton can't.

I suspect he'll be seeing a good amount of time at h-back. It would be interesting to see whether he could handle reading the defense and pitching the ball, though.

Urbans offense is really pretty simple. Its based on speed, playing in space and forcing the defenders to face guard which isn't allowed in college.

Thanks for the read. After reading this and looking at the schemes/philosophies involved, Braxton and company could do serious damage next year.

Just a question, but will the FB become obsolete in our new offense, will homan (and isn't there a frosh from NC) not be needed and will we go after more ol and tes to replace them? I honestly don't remember fbs being used at Florida or Utah because the rbs were used in space a lot times and usually were much quicker than the lbs covering them.
