Breaking Bad / Better Call Saul

Phenomenal. In the end, Gilligan threw us the ultimate curve...

...ending it simply, and exactly as it should have.

This

The entire series he always did something different than conventional writers would do. I could never predict where he would go next. He rarely gave the viewer what they wanted to see.

I did not predict last night's ending because he did the conventional thing.

And it was perfect.

How's everyone coping today?

We literally saw the end of our era's masterpiece in television. Shows have flashed here and there but they almost always became an inflated, over saturated version of themselves Lost, The Walking Dead, The Office... just to name a few.

Breaking Bad kept to its hallmarks of subtlety mixed with hyper-violence, comedy mixed with understated intelligence, and an overall sense of gravitas and seriousness without being too much.

Watching the character of Walter White evolve (or devolve) was the best storyline I've ever seen unfold on television. The flashback to him being asked to go with Hank on the sting operation literally had me saying aloud "My God."
