Brady "XLLL" Hoke (Head Coach San Diego State)

It's not like Michigan being undefeated will convince talking heads that the Big Ten is any good or that Ohio State played a strong schedule, so no matter the outcome, let's all just enjoy watching one of these teams lose.
It's not like Meat being undefeated would make ANY OF US think they are any good, so you are right, no media person would either. They aren't very good and if they went undefeated until running into us, that wouldn't change the fact that they are mediocre. So yeah, let 'em lose so we can laugh at their quandary.

Saw a thread over on mgoblog discussing whether if Michigan wins this weekend, it would be the biggest road win of Hoke's tenure at Michigan. Naturally, I laughed, given that PSU is 3-2, coming off a loss to Indiana, and has only beaten the likes of Syracuse, Kent and Eastern Michigan. But then a poster pointed out that Hoke only has 4 road wins total at Michigan in two plus seasons--Northwestern (6-7) and Illinois (7-6) in 2011 and Purdue (6-7) and Minnesota (6-7) in 2012.
The best part of that thread was the giant argument about whether a neutral site game counts as a road game. I'm not sure if they guy was just desperate to find a good road win for Hoke, or just their very own Max Buck.

So, were they trying to use VaTech? The VaTech that is notorious for their bowl/big-game blunders? Or maybe their epic beatdown at the hands of bammer?

I saw that as well. I was so close to creating an account just to ask him if he was dropped on his fucking head as a child he was so fucking stupid and insufferable. His argument was "well they traveled to another stadium other than our own, so it.....is....a.....ROAD GAME!!!!!!"

NW played as hard as they could against the bucks and I gotta believe they were pretty nicked up before they got pounded in Madison. Dept is a bitch and they just don't have any. Of course, after watching ol' 98 shit the sheets in Happy Valley, I gotta believe that the wildcats can be in the game, they could win, but IMO I just don't see the game being decided by more than 7 points in either direction.

I just don't see an undefeated tOSU being left out. Had tOSU been eligible last year, I think it would've been tOSU vs Bama. Especially considering the espn hype machine would have nothing to gain by placing ND (NBC) ahead of tOSU (BTN), and in fact, could hurt their chances, however small they are, of picking up B1G games in a couple years. Until the day comes where an undefeated tOSU is bcs cock blocked, I don't see it as realistic.

Not that it really matters much after this season anyway. No matter how weak the B1G is perceived to be, there's no fucking way an undefeated B1G champ will not be in the top 4, imo.

This could be the year to test your theories. I can imagine the uproar if Oregon loses to Stanford, LSU beats Bama, and Ohio State and Clemson, having played no one ranked higher than 15 at the end of the season get the NCG nod. ESPN will have a shit hemorrhage, Tuscaloosa and Baton Rouge will go up in flames, Rhett and Scarlet will flee Atlanta and Saxby Chambliss and Jeff Sessions will threaten to nuke the debt ceiling before seceding from the union.

. Nice game, Brady. People love to act as if his undefeated at home stat is something impressive (overlooking, of course, that none of those home victories included a win over a quality team), but his teams are just atrocious on the road.

I tend to agree with both of your takes here, except that if Ohio State had been eligible last year, it would have been tOSU vs. Ntre Ame for the title. This year, the top 10 isn't exactly rock solid, every team seems to have holes, and at some point in the season, a team full of 18-22 year olds are going to have an off-day. Beyond that, an undefeated (and 25-0) Ohio State does not get left out.

UGA losing to Mizzou hurts Clemson BTW.

How does this relate to Hoke? I think we'll see scUM rebound a bit after this loss and probably enter The Game no worse than 9-2 (I think NW gets them)

Exactly! And given the way ND played, I would've taken my chances.

And I never thought Mizzou would pull it off, and that too, in such a convincing fashion.

But now our path is clear. We root for Florida State against Clemson, VT against Florida State in the ACC championship game, and Stanford against Oregon. I know there's still a lot of football being played, but I'm hoping we play 'Bama in the NCG.

Edit: CFN has an article on cHoke. Poor imitation of Tresselball.

The undefeated around the Top 10 will have:

Alabama: LSU, @Auburn
Oregon: UCLA, @Stanford
Clemson: FSU, @USCe
Florida St: @Clemson, Miami, @Florida

Lots of opportunity for chaos remaining. F Michigan. OSU just needs to take care of their own business.
