You trying to sell us on that bullshit or yourself?

It obviously ranks very highly on your list of things you care about or you wouldn't need the attention of being on a rivals board. The fact you are nearing middle age and still playing the game is just sad.

no sir, I referred to him just as he was referred to in the interview I listened to.

So you found some other whiner who, like yourself, is irritated because the stepfather is speaking out against what he feels is manipulation. You realize that means absolutely nothing, right?

I question his character, as well as any other person in this world who takes their beef with where their kid chooses to go to college for a free education to a local call in radio show.

No, you're whining because Hoke is the target of the claims. No one here believes you'd be whining so much if the target were any other D1 coach, so you can put down the self-righteous banner.

If he's so concerned about his step son being brainwashed, then his first call should be to the NCAA to discuss such reprehensible recruiting tactics.[\quote]

The medium he chose is well within his rights, whether scUMmers take offense or not. Sorry.

Much like Mike Gundy, I'm a man, i'm (not really) 40. Internet Message board fodder does not rank highly on the list of things that "hurt my feelings."[\quote]

The self-righteous indignation and immaturity with which your post was dripping (0as I previously quoted) suggests otherwise.

I appreciate the allowance of my opinions to be posted on this website. But that's all they are, my opinions. And i'll keep on posting them. And I look forward to more banter with you in the future.

Your old standby response. Raising the white flag again, I see.

I love how people think that Luke is in a no win situation. I had a Wolverine fan over to my house for dinner last night (he's a good guy, really).

Anyway, he said the same thing about Luke being in a no win situation this year.

I look at the schedule and there isn't a team on there that Ohio State can't beat right now. Talent wise they are better than anyone on that schedule. You have to play the games though which brings me to my second point.

The players want Fickell to get the job. Fickell wants the job. These guys are going to run through walls for him.

This is a season long interview and so far Luke is doing a phenomenal job. If he gets to 10 wins (in my opinion I have them undefeated and that's without the scarlet glasses on) then how does he not get the job? How is he in a no win situation? Win and you're in just like anything else.

What is Gene Smith going to do? Bring in someone else after Luke goes undefeated and stomps UM like a narc at a biker rally? Suppose he goes 10-2 or 11-1 AND STOMPS UM LIKE A NARC AT A BIKER RALLY? Is Gene Smith going to bring in someone else? Gene Smith needs to heed the fans and the fans are going to want Luke Fickell after this upcoming season.

Agreed. Right now, Luke is in the drivers seat. If anyone is certain to have a shot at being the HC after this season, it is Luke Fickell.

I just think he, and any other coach that comes to osu, is going to always and forever be compared to JT. That to me is no win situation. I certainly wasn't trying to bash the guy. I'm pulling for him over anybody else, TBH. Seems like a standup coach and the players are rallying behind him.

At least Hoke has a good sense of humor; but (assuming he lasts at scUM 10 years) will he still be laughing after he goes 0-10 vs the Buckeyes?

Letterman went to Ball State, right?

Yeah, he originally had wanted to attend Indiana University, but his grades weren't good enough, so he decided to attend Ball State University,

per http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Letterman

David Letterman Telecommunications Scholarship
The David Letterman Scholarship was established by David Letterman in 1985 to provide scholarships for telecommunications students at Ball State University. The awards are intended for average students who nevertheless have a creative mind. Winners are selected primarily based on creativity. Projects may involve a variety of media, including written work, research, audio, video, graphics and film. The winner receives a $10,000 scholarship. The first runner-up receives $5,000. The second runner-up receives $3,333.

FIFY

Not a knock on JT either. Woody's resume is the one that coaches here are judged by... shit, we've even got people comparing the way that Tressel ended his tenure here to the way Woody did.

Woody will always be the gold standard here that coaches are judged by.
