is it possible to negative recruit against extra stretching?

after all we've learned about Tress in the last 6 months, just because there isn't a "report" about it, sure as shit doesn't mean it never happened. So spare me the speech on ethics

"class" is a word thrown around way to much in today's society.

When the program gets NCAA probation, yes, negative recruiting is certainly possible.

Here's what RichRod said about JT's recruiting tactics:

USAToday

"(We experienced) ? a lot of negative recruiting (while at Michigan)," Rodriguez said. "People just bashing individual coaches and schools and programs, and I think that's a bad practice to do.

"Some people would think Ohio State-Michigan is such a big rivalry, they probably did a lot of negative recruiting. They didn't. There were other schools that did, but they didn't, and that to me sends a message they're trying to do things the right way."
So you can believe whatever the Hell you want. And I'm sorry if you think I used RichRod to give you a speech on ethics, because there's some real irony there.

A close friend of mine, who happens to be connected at TSUN, told me several times that RR said Jim Tressel and tOSU never used negative recruiting tactics against you fuck wads. Said plenty of schools did, but not tOSU and JT.

Anything else you want to know about your team?

I have read comments by several coaches (including from rival teams) and players (who ended up going to other schools) saying that Tress did not negatively recruit. Period. and believe me over the past 5 years there was plenty going on up north to provide ammo to negatively recruit

here is a quote i came across

"Negative recruiting has always been a part of the process and unfortunately it is always going to be. Ohio State was always at a disadvantage in this ugly part of the recruiting process. I have told the story about the mother of an out-of-state target for just about every major program telling me Jim Tressel was the only coach who did not negatively recruit her son (who eventually chose another school)."

it doesn't say much for Hoke's character. I guess when you're at the bottom, you'll use whatever low blows you have to.

Hoke is a fucking wanna-be outsider from Dayton who strove to be different. He's a fucking traitor like the rest of the Ohio-born douches who go to the Whore Up North. It's expected.

This entire dialogue can be summed up as follows: I fucking hate scUM but I respect them. And I really hate fat overrated coaches who poach 17 year olds and play off their emotions like a horny dude trying to score on prom night.

If everyone recruited "on the up and up", college football would be a much less insidious enterprise. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

let's not all act like Michigan fans did when they were supposedly being negatively recruited against. those morons on their boards act like negative recruiting was invented to screw over Michigan so the rest of us poor programs would have a chance recruiting against them.

But that's just it--the blatant hypocrisy on the part of scUMmers is what makes it a story.

You can have the kids that buy into that garbage.
