i guess I just dont see him as being any more of a "project" than Frye was, or Quinn and Russell are. Or any other QB thats get drafted high and the expectations placed on them.

The difference is that Frye, Quinn and Russell are entering the NFL 3-4 even 5 years younger than Beck. That gives them a lot more time to develop and presumably have longer careers. If Beck takes 2-3 years to develop, he's already pushing 30 whereas the others will still be in their mid-twenties. Doesn't leave much wiggle room.

I've been a Browns fan since the days of Lou Groza, Bill Willis and Otto Graham, but this Quinn BS has put me over the edge. They seem to be aquiring a team of the biggest World Class Prima Donna Assholes: Quinn, Edwards and Winslow.

Dublin native Brady Quinn practiced for the first time with the Browns after ending an 11-day holdout by signing a five-year, $20.2 million contract.

BEREA, Ohio -- First-round pick Brady Quinn believes "without a doubt" that he'll start for the Cleveland Browns at some point this season. But the quarterback doesn't expect the job handed to him.
"I don't deserve anything," Quinn said yesterday. "I've got to earn a lot, not only with the coaching staff but with the team."
After an 11-day holdout, Quinn is in camp. He practiced for the first time with the team after signing a five-year, $20.2 million contract, with $7.75 million guaranteed.

Brady Quinn's contract controversy will pass away, Bud Shaw says

Plain Dealer Columnist
The gall of Brady Quinn, hiring an agent to advise him and then taking that advice when he could've accepted the Browns' original offer out of empathy with the common man.
For some reason it was mentioned to Quinn on Wednesday that the median income in Cleveland is so modest it would take some people 1,000 years to match what the Browns are paying him.
I guess if he had made it to camp on time, playing for only 975 years worth of other people's hard labor, they would embrace him and celebrate his everyman-ness?
