Brady Quinn (Fox CFB Analyst)

One thing Quinn ought to read if he is getting contract counsel from Larry Johnson is this (AOL Sports). It shows just how "sharp" is that advice ...

Johnson's request, which the Chiefs apparently think is so unreasonable that they won't even make a counter-offer, is reportedly in the range of $25 million guaranteed. Johnson is one of the NFL's two best running backs, and if he were an unrestricted free agent, there's a chance that some team would give him that kind of money.

But he's not an unrestricted free agent. He still has a year left on his contract, and if the Chiefs wanted to they could keep him this year, franchise him the next couple of years, and lock him in for the rest of his 20s for less than $25 million total. The Chiefs have more leverage than Johnson has.

Lesson one - always negotiate from a position of weakness?

Whoever wrote that doesn't know all the specifics for the NFL. You can only be franchised one time without having a new contract written up.

But the Chiefs aren't hurting for a running back quite as badly as the Browns are hurting for a productive Quarterback. not that I think Quinn will ever be that QB, we truly won't know until the greaseball gets into camp and plays instead of whining to ESPiN and with his mutual admiration party in Arizona.......

I would tell this f*ckhead that the contract on the table is as good as it's going to get and they are going to subtract $100,000 every day until he signs. I guarantee that losing a year of salary will hurt a hell of a lot more than the incentives that he will have to work hard to earn rather than easily earn. Not to mention that he isn't doing anything for his rep being the whiny little bitch that he is. I wish they had kept the picks and given Couch another chance. At least I could like him.

If you don't want players holding out while they're under contract, you gotta let them get the contract they can be happy with before they sign it. It's just business.

It doesn't matter. The minute they think they are underpaid they will hold out for more money. If by some gift from God Quinn is the next Peyton Manning I guarantee he will be holding out for $10+ mil a year regardless of time left on his first contract. I just hope he can crash and burn without totally taking down the Browns organization. Hopefully Frye will turn into Drew Brees this season and they'll have no use for Quinn.

It's cliche, but no one player is bigger than the team.

ESPECIALLY an unproven NFL rookie who was completely overrated in college and who happens to play one of the hardest positions on the field.

As I've said before, I'm glad he isn't there poisoning the clubhouse.

Yeah, and if the calculus works out right for the team, they won't hesitate to cut him, tag him, or do any other number of things that he doesn't want. There is no loyalty on either side.

Again, the Browns were idiots to draft him in the first place.

Yes just until.....Then I want him to become GOD of the football field so my Brownies can do well. Until then though....Piss on him, he is still a Domer as far as I'm concerned.

You know Jabba the Weiss is telling him how good he is ever other day rather than doing what he can to get him into camp. Yeah Brady wait to see what the Raiders give Russell so that you know what fair market value is for top draft picks.
