This was the easiest year for picking teams on the bubble.
Very little discussion of who got screwed, that‘s so annoying to listen to most years.
I was impressed with the way Keith Gill, chairman of the selection committee and the Sun Belt commissioner, actually answered the questions about the process.
If I heard correctly, Miami should not have been in the play-in based on true seed, but they got slid down based on some other bracketing principles. It would been funny if Auburn was 1st team out and Miami losing cost them a bid but they were 2nd out.
Miami OH fans are not happy on their forum about being in a play in game

I think it also because a lot of teams shit the bed down the stretch including Indiana. Oddly enough, the top 37 teams in Kenpom got in. Texas was right at 37 and auburn was at 38.I don't think anyone really got "screwed" but a Texas team who's been terrible for a month getting in is kind of a joke. They should absolutely put some weight on recent performance down the final stretch of the season

I agree. Oklahoma was there at 40. Texas only winning 2 games in the last month is wild for them to sneak in.I woulda given Texas spot to OU. Same number of losses but OU won 6/7 down the stretch including beating Texas head to head.
This is indeed like arguing about what turd smells the least though.

Maybe I'm just biased, but I'm thinking Duke looks ripe for the upsetMaybe I'm just a hater but I think TCUN has a chance to be the first 1 seed out. I think they'll struggle with St. Louis (my pick over UGA) and then, if they win that one, I think they struggle against both Texas Tech and Bama (if either one gets there). It's the tournament so anything can happen of course but TCUN looks like the weakest 1 seed in the field to me.

I fully expect them to have some sort of lucky bullshit propel them to at least the elite 8.
I don't think it's going to take luck for UM to reach the Elite 8, they got such an easy draw. Georgia and St Louis stink. Their draw just got better because Bama's star guard Holloway (#2 scorer) got arrested after the bracket was released for having over a pound of marijuana. Maybe Holloway was the team plug? Bama is one of the few potential roadblocks for them in that region. Texas Tech lost their star forward Toppin for the season in February. So if Bama isn't going to stop them, they'll walk to the Elite 8. Virginia could cause them problems, as could Iowa State. Iowa State is a team that is very boom or bust depending on how teams guard them - I think they could definitely knock off UM, because they have a guy who can drill 3s similar to what Rapp did for Wisconsin did against UM.I fully expect them to have some sort of lucky bullshit propel them to at least the elite 8.
