Bracketology and Selection Sunday Discussion

Texas just got upset by Ole Miss (13-19) in the SEC 1st round, which is a Quad 2 loss, to finish 18-14. Longhorns were listed by Lunardi as "Last 4 byes" prior to the loss. I hope the Horns get left out.
With all the other teams losing I think Texas will be in but in Dayton for a 2nd straight year.

At least with all these teams losing the odds of Ohio State being in Dayton feel unlikely when the worst they can do is lose to a team that is at a minimum their equal.

UCF should have lost but Cincy crapped the bed up 8 with 2 mins left

Does little Miami get in after an early exit in the MAC Tournament? I seriously have no idea as I don't follow college basketball. All I know is I read something recently about their rankings were low even though their regular season was undefeated. And the writer speculated they needed to win the MAC Tournament to get in.

Right now Joe Lunardi has Miami (OH) as Last Four In, and Auburn as First Four Out (pending their game vs Tennessee today). Miami does not have a high NET ranking, #54 before today's games, and it should go down from there. I think the fact that we so rarely see mid-majors go undefeated in the regular season gives Miami an advantage in terms of making the field.

Villanova and UGA getting upset today would allow us to potentially move up to a 7, they are 7s in both CBS and Lunardi's bracketology. Both of them losing is not likely but we can hope

I think they'll get in. They're probably the worst at-large team in tournament history, but they'll get in and get emphatically bounced round one.

You might be right. Kenpom ranks Miami #93 in the country. I can't recall a team rated that low by Pomeroy actually getting an at-large bid. Generally you need to be in or around the top-50 overall.
Their board is hilariously (and unsurprisingly) delusional. They think they're capable of a Sweet 16 run and that this little bit of publicity this year has now propelled them into being seen as a potential ACC member.
