I think our Commissioner is gone for the day. He probably will respond in the morning. I would assume he didn't put up the thread for nothing. He has the draft order for the first two rounds but has not upgraded it with the date/times.

I also think that cbf40 is onto something when he says that if a person misses their 12 hour period that person should not necessarily go to the bottom but should be able to jump in when they have a minute and make their selection if they miss their timeframe.

Alright, it's time to get started :biggrin:

starBUCKS, since you posted your pick in this thread, I will post it for you in the Draft Thread. ALL picks must be posted in the Draft Thread, so I can keep track of them and assign the player to your team.

In response to missing your pick, if you know that you're not going to be on and don't PM me your top 12 picks, you will go to the bottom of the list for that round. It wouldn't be fair for you to jump back in on your own time and potentially take someone else's pick. Hopefully this doesn't happen at all and I don't think it will.

Since starBUCKS has made his pick, I will post it in the Draft Thread and I'm now on the clock. If you have a question/suggestion about the league or want to discuss picks, please post in this thread. I'd like to keep the Draft Thread to picks only, just so it's easier to keep track of and I don't miss something.

I know we shouldn't change the system now that the draft is started, but... is there any reason jwinslow would need until Friday to make his pick? How about we cap the pick delay at 36 hours and pause it over the weekends? People could still pick over the weekends, but we'd restart the draft clock at 9 AM on Monday.

I made the time slots so not matter how quickly the person infront of you makes their pick, you have 12 hours, no matter what. This way you don't get skipped if you don't know that the person infront of you made their pick early. I highly doubt we're going to run in to a point where someone takes 12 hours to make their decision, but this was done because people do have to work or have other plans.

Are you saying that you don't want any type of time restriction on the weekends, so people can take as long as they want? Just trying to figure out exactly what you want.

Well I'm saying that under the current system, by the end of the draft, the last person picking will have until October 26th to pick.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, that maxing it out at 36 hours to make your pick from the previous selection, and then pausing the timer on the weekends, would create actual enforceable deadlines.

And we all know that there's no way that can happen. I don't think we have to worry about getting the draft completed. Part of signing up for this league is taking 'responsibility' for completing the draft and managing your team during the season.

I agree completely, but what's the point of having a deadline for picks, if by the 5th round, the deadline's gonna be past the season opener.

I think somehow we will have to speed it up when MD Buckeye and our Gator friend get back from their vacations. People probably should really try and pick as quickly as they can after the person in front of them picks. That would really help expedite things iMO

Just ignore the deadlines lol. We're going to get the draft done before the start of the season.
