I agree with Nation on the Texas issue...I moved them to #1 this week, because it's obvious to me that USC has a mediocre defense, and yes, they can outscore anyone they play on the regular season schedule, but I think Texas' body of work is #1 football to this point in the season.

I see a lot of people dropped Texas Tech out of the top 25 entirely...I think that's a little harsh with only 1 loss, but I dropped them way down too.

The reasoning I would imagine for this is that if you play a schedule full of 1aa and 1a cupcakes... You better win out, even though you only have one loss, it was to the only real team on your schedule. I started disliking tech after their bowl a couple of years ago against navy or whatever service academy it was. This bias shows in my ballot, fuck tech.

I agree with all of that...I had them at #25...no higher, while they played I-AA teams early in the year. They flopped, no doubt about it. If they finish 10-1, considering the Big XII this year, that could be a really fluke and undeserved 10-1.

I get to play alternate and helped out by getting mine in late today

I've had Texas No. 1 on my list since they beat OSU. The one place I struggled was moving scUM back into the top 25. I have to give them credit for pulling it out against PSU after the last PSU drive and then taking Iowa at Iowa.

I had no problems dropping a 3-3 Vol team out of the top 25. They just haven't risen to the challenge this year. Their win against LSU is flukish if you think about what LSU had gone through prior to that game.

I moved NW in after the spanking they laid on the Spartys....

I'm right there with "Phat-Daddy." In my heart, I believe Texas is a better team than USC and will beat them in the Rose Bowl. I just put myself in USC's place, if it were us, and would hope that we would remain #1 if in the same position. It's almost a "courtesy" vote I'm giving them at #1, as stupid as that may seem. #1 or #2 doesn't matter at this point, they'll both run the table and get to settle it on the field.

I think it would be great if no poll came out until after 4-5 weeks in the season. It would help with seeing what teams really have before ranking them on speculation prior to the season.u

Of course then hell would probably freeze over.....

I don't understand all of this sentiment that USC should be #1 until they lose. Pure pollster and pundit poppycock!

Was tOSU, coming off a perfect season in 2002, #1 in 2003 until we lost? No, we were #2 behind Oklahoma because of preseason-guessing, which was partially due to the 2003 scUM gamed being in the Toilet. Was anybody in the national media saying tOSU should be #1 before the Wiscy game in 2003? If they were, they were voices in the wilderness.

Keeping last year's team #1 until they lose is a crock. Screw USC, Texas has played better football. All that should matter is what has happened on the field this year, how difficult a concept is that?

How much are we to admire the comeback now against Arizona St., who is 4-4 coming off a loss to Stanford, who lost to Cal-Davis, a team that moved up to 1-AA just last year? Yeah, they just moved up to 1-AA, not 1-A.
