I hate drafting aging stars. There's a tendency to stick with them for too long when they're struggling, you miss out on good pick ups, and sometimes they're just done. Or you give up on them and they come back to life for the guy who picked them up.
All of my best players, I had never heard of. After the draft I thought, "hey! Encaracion! He's good! Josh Donaldson! Don't know much about him but he's supposed to be a stud! Pujols and McCutchen! Those guys are older but they've been sweet for years!" So far, they've all sucked.
So yeah, age is overrated.
My best players are my OF who average like a fucking year of experience among them. Benintendi, Yelich, Haniger and Judge? Never heard of a fucking one of 'em but they are raking for me. I can thank auto-draft for two of them and I picked the other two up just based on potential/performance while not knowing a damn thing about them. How you guys let the guy who doesn't know shit about shit pick them up, is on you. Shame on you guys.
