Helps both teams out! I'm open to another trade. Anyone that needs starting pitching, I'm looking for a 1B or SS. Willing to trade any of my pitching staff except the Cuban Missile.

I think one party is being taken to the cleaners but I've never seen my role as commish to protect players from my perception of the consequences of their poor decisions. :wink2:

I typically only veto if it is so lopsided as to be unfair to the rest of the league or the actions suggest one party is simply handing players to another. I especially perk up when a guy who hasn't coached his team in weeks suddenly shows up and makes a bad trade. I've seen that more than a few times but that's not what happened here. :)

From Yahoo:

1B Mark Teixeira found out Tuesday morning he does not have structural damage in his injured left wrist. An MRI revealed only inflammation a day after Teixeira had to leave Monday's game against the Orioles in the seventh inning after diving for J.J. Hardy's seventh-inning, hard-hit ball and landing on his left wrist.

Had he broken his arm I'd veto the trade and send both guys back to the drawing board but this doesn't appear too serious. If the parties agree to redo the deal I'm fine with it but otherwise I'm inclined to let it go through.

I'm firmly in the camp that believes managers immediately assume the risk that an injury will occur to the player or players coming their way in a pending trade. Even if Teixera were out for the year, I wouldn't go bitching and moaning about how the trade was suddenly unfair.

My view is I've got to shake it up if I want to make any noise in the playoffs. (IF I make the playoffs...)

Thanks Dryden for Dan Uggla!

Your welcome. From Jun 10 to yesterday his line is .118/.281/.169 with 1 HR and 8 RBI.

You can have him for free.

With Allan Craig (who has 2nd base eligibility) and Altuve, I just couldn't justify Uggla and that slump any longer, and somebody had to go to make way for Lucroy when he came off the DL.

I also jettisoned Stephen Drew to take a shot on the hot bat of Colorado's Josh Rutledge. Rutledge rewarded me with a 3R HR last night.

Yeah, I was running Dustin Akley and Omar Infante out there at 2B, so the upgrade to Uggla and Hill will be nice!
