Boston Red Sox (9x World Series Champions)

Rotate... you can also include Lowell in there. But it also depends on the game situation. If Boston goes in up 2-0...3-0, you can sit Papi, if not... no way do you sit him. A co-worker of mine thought of sticking Youklis in right field and sitting Drew.

Can Youk play 3rd? Not sure you really want to take Lowell out, as he's been solid all year behind Papi and Manny. I could see Youk in right, though I'm not sure I'd trust that side of the field considering Papi isn't the most mobile of 1B, and while I'm not sure Youk doesn't strike me as a particularly mobile guy either. I mean, there's a reason Papi is the DH.

Yes Youk can play third. He's a damn good fielder too. I wouldn't want Lowell out, but I heard that on Mike/Miike this morning. They pretty much grouped Lowell, Papi and Youk.

Yep, third is Youk's original position coming into the majors.

Papi's knee is a concern. I would probably be more inclined to sit him for at least one or two of the games. If Youk and Lowell weren't hitting so well I might say play Papi all of the games.

Oh, the Places Tulowitzki and Torrealba Won't Go!

Rox
Sox
Rox on Fox
Sox on Fox
Rox vs. Sox on Fox
Sox vs. Rox on Fox
Sox vs. Rox in Coors Bandbox

Sox have Jocks
Rox have Jocks
Jocks in Field or Batter's Box
Jocks with Money Box of Stocks
Papi strong as Wild Ox

Fox ex-Jocks sit in Press Box
Listen to Tim McCarver's Vox!
The insanity he Talks and Squawks
Joe Buck oughtta clean his Clocks

Rox beat Sox
Sox beat Rox

No one claims the games are Locks
And on some wood a Nation Knocks
But if the Rox Outfox the Sox
Or Gagne Walks or Beckett Balks
It surely would cause Mocks and Shocks
Requiring Whiskey on the Rocks

... and then, as Manny says, there will always be next year ... -- Mark Stebbins, 10.24.07

Here's the latest from the Providence Journal regarding Ortiz:

David Ortiz isn't too worried that his sore knee will limit his ability to play first base in Colorado.

"I don't know," Ortiz said. "I'll tell you after I play the first game. (The knee) feels good right now. It's a short series - you've got to suck it up.'' Ortiz will likely start the three middle games at first base when the World Series moves to Colorado and the DH is unavailable. With Ortiz at first, Kevin Youkilis will likely start one game at third base and could start another in right field.

A fun read

I've left out some people, I'm sure, but that's basically your 2007 Boston Red Sox: two Japanese exchange students, a feisty runt, a tough-looking Jew, a Navajo Indian, an idiot-savant, a right-wing asshole, the human embodiment of charisma, and a man named after a breakfast cereal. That's America, right there. And, ain't that something worth cheering for?

I kind of like that idea. Youk is very versatile and can play almost anywhere. Plus, you keep all three bats in since J.D has exhausted his clutch hitting for the post-season. Matter of fact, put Ortiz in RF! He's a mobile guy, right? Watch him scurry around the bases and tell he doesn't have range!
