Wow, looks like the Indians just need to force the Red Sox deep into their bullpen - 'cause it sucks.

Also, I fully expect the Mitchell investigation to expose Manny and Papi. There's no way their eyesight is that good without some sort of help. The Indians simply cannot pitch to them.

Yeah, our bullpen really sucks. :roll1: It was only the best bullpen in the American League during the regular season. One game does not make a sucky bullpen. Your post is nothing but sour grapes. Even with "fans" like you, I have nothing but respect for the Indians. Enjoy the series.

Wow... what bitter statements with Manny and Papi.
And agreed with Sushi... they have a pretty solid bullpen all year. Gagne is a nightmare.

Sour grapes? Last I checked, the Indians won last night.

The only sour grapes I have is that Manny has been in a Red Sox uniform the last 7 years. But it will taste that much better if the Indians win over the poaching Red Sox and their ridiculous payroll.

Yeah, sure. Boston's pen only ranked #1 in the league.

Call me crazy, but I'm prettyyyyyyy sure Manny was good before he got to Boston. I might be off, but doubtful. Eyesight? That's definitely a new one though

If I used your logic, I would say I wish the Indians pitched C.C. every night because he sucks. That's simply not true, as is your claim that the Red Sox bullpen sucks.

I guess I should have qualified it. If the Indians can get the Red Sox to go deep into their bullpen, they're in good shape. Like it or not, it wasn't just Gagne that shit the bed the other night in the 11th. Papelbon and Oki bring it, no doubt. But if you can get deep on them, I don't think the Red Sox bullpen is that much different from the Yankees.

And C.C. is sucking right now. He's pressing and he's not handling the presssure very well. He had many of the same problems against the Yankees, but got out of it with his skin because the middle of the NY lineup was far from clutch.

He was very good in Cleveland. But he wasn't this good. In fact, I would argue that Papi and Manny have never been better than they are right now. And that's scary.

Manny comes back from this strained oblique muscle, which a difficult injury to overcome, and all of a sudden, you can't pitch to the guy. His on-base percentage is over .750. And it's not like he's facing chopped liver out there - these are the best pitchers the best in the majors have to offer.

And the argument about eyesight is not a new one. Read Game of Shadows. No one thought it was a coincidence that Barry Bonds was able to hit out anything and everything that came into the strikezone during his run. Just like, I don't think it's a coincidence that Papi hit it big in Boston after anonymity in Minnestoa and Manny overcame an oblique injury to be better than ever.

Actually, before the game the other night, they were comparing Manny's stats in Cleveland and in Boston. They are almost identical.
