Boston Red Sox (9x World Series Champions)

So you would turn down the chance to nab A-Rod?
If it means getting rid of Julio Lugo, I'd pack up all of his shit and drive him to Fenway myself.

Otherwise, L.A. can have him. He'd be a distraction, even more so now after already having played for New York, and dumping Lowell on the street after the season he's had would be nonsensical.

I think A-Rod would fit into the Angels very well, we tend to give less of a crap about peoples lifestyles, so the guy likes women that look like men? Not really news here. The real question would be how well does he play with others, Mike Scioscia has made the Angels respectable, and even though they could use another bat, I think the team chemistry is more important.

Do you spell cremepuff with MVP?

damn you found another thread to get OWNED in....

Anyway, while ARod might win the MVP, there isn't a chance in Hades he'll either want to go to Boston or would Boston truly want him short of getting the Yankees to pay for quite a bit of his salary.

If ARod leaves the NYY, he's going to one of the LA teams.

I'm loving the Sox future. I'd take A Rod over Lugo obviously... but it's not a make or break move. But the Sox need to keep Lowell at 3rd.... ALSO HOW ABOUT F'IN DREW AGAIN TONIGHT SUSH? DOUBLE F'IN PLAY WITH ONE OUT AND BASES LOADED! R U KIDINING ME... I'd take Wily Mo again over him.

The thing that bothers me is that he acts like he doesn't care. He shows no emotion whatsoever. That's not a Red Sox player.

I wouldn't have that much of a problem with him if he played great defense, but he doesn't. Or if he wasn't the "protection" for the best 3/4 combination in baseball, but he is. It's not like he's been hitting the ball hard and he's just been unlucky either. Remy and Orsillo should just start saying "he J.D. Drew'd it" everytime someone grounds out softly to 2nd.

Somehow I don't think he'd be hitting .2fucking52 if Papa Jack were still around, but that's just my theory.

Get owned in? Hardly. Anyone saying they wouldn't want A-Rod on their team is insane, even if you say it's because of the money. He's worth every penny of it. He's having a career year in New York, where people to this day say he's not a true Yankee. He's single handedly put that team on his back this year and is the reason why they're in the playoff hunt. Maybe Boston wouldn't want him. The same way New York wouldn't want Johnny Damon. And don't count the Chicago Cubs out of the A-Rod sweepstakes. They've shown they'll spend some jack with the best of 'em.

I didn't say anything about money. ARod is doing well this year because the press has mostly stayed off of him due to his performance. Boston isn't like that. and yes, look at the responses, YOU got OWNED in another thread.

Which is why he's won so many titles right?

And he won't be until he actually wins a World Series. That's how the stupid "true Yankee" thing is determined.

Why would Chicago go after ARod? They have Aramis Ramirez.....

The press was all over him earlier in the season when the Yankees were left for dead, what are you talking about?

Second, if you want to say I was owned on another thread, keep owning me over there. Don't bring it here.

Third, I agree that the "true Yankee" measuring stick is dumb. But 26 World Championships will spoil fans over time.

Fourth, I understand the Cubs invested a lot of money in Aramis Ramirez, but you're forgetting A-Rod is a shortstop. The Cubs also acquired Alfonso Soriano, who let his unhappiness in the outfield be known in Washington. Where has he played in Chicago? The outfield.

Yeah and then asked him how hitting number 500 was.....way to stay on him...:roll1:

so? And the same applies to the Red Sox fans. He's been a Yankee and a prominent one at that. He's contaminated as far as they are concerned and add to that he'll be making somewhere in the neighborhood of $25-27 million....not gonna happen.

He is a shortstop or WAS?

He's not going to the Cubs either.

They started tanking earlier in the year, before he was within a home run or two of 500. Yes, I know, after that, they laid off. But they had to. And Red Sox fans are not as spoiled as Yankee fans. Until 2004 (1 flippin' year by the way), they lived with the Curse of the Bambino. They couldn't seal the deal if it were Prom Night. A lot of teams have good seasons.... does this mean the 1995 Cleveland Indians fans were spoiled? They lost the World Series!! And was/could be again a shortstop. While he's made a very good transition to 3rd, thinking he's a better 3rd baseman than shortstop is just insane.
