Boston College 14, Virginia Tech 10 (Final)

If his team actually showed some life THIS YEAR, then I would be cautious.

He is not what he once was- I know how he great, but FSU does not have mentality of "watch out- they can sneak up on you" like Kentucky.

I AM cautious about Miami- they do have some talent and actually know what offensive football is.

A win over BC would make Bowdens season look like it meant something. I don't know if they will win or not, but after seeing BC tonight, I am saying that FSU and Miami are danger spots on their schedule. They had to come back tonight, they feel invincible, now they have FSU, who would love to play the spoiler card.

When you're high ranked you have that target, it's a lot of pressure on the players and the coaches. Look at the #2's that have fallen, Cal lost to Oregon State? South Florida to Rutgers? Those teams were inferior on paper, yet they lost. A lot of that is pressure and that target.

Honestly, I really don't care that much, I am more focused on us, I just think that FSU can be dangerous for Boston College, especially after seeing their performance tonight.

I want BC/anyone else besides LSU in the championship game... I think it's complete bull shit that LSU would be playing the championship game as a home game if they got there... Fuck that, and fuck the tigers. I hate LSU's style of play, I don't like the coaches stupid play calling and its going to get them burnt sometime in the year, and most importantly I hate how they spell "go". So can anyone tell I don't like LSU?

Anyways I lived 10 minutes from blacksburgh for 5 years and I must say what happened against BC had to make me laugh because those fans are going to be sore and bitching tomorrow. They are great fans though, but man thats tough to take for Tech. Great shots of Ryan throwing up at the end of the game that was in great taste!

from Extra Bases, the Boston Globe Red Sox blog:

For those of you not watching tonight's BC-Virginia Tech game -- it's on in the media work room behind the press box -- there was a Red Sox connection.

Jonathan Papelbon, from Fenway Park, read the starters for the Eagles on the ESPN broadcast.

Good thing he fit it in, in between Riverdance rehearsals.

What a damned finish for BC, and what a damnable collapse for VT - and it's Ryan on the sidelines giving new meaning to being a top-notch hurler? After the game winning cross-field, off-balance toss into the hands of Callender, waiting free of unwanted Hokie attention in the end-zone?

I cannot decide which would make the better YouTube moment - the post toss hurl job on the sidelines ("he's giving it up for the team?) or the bouncing dance, a la The Jerk, by Jagodzinski.

Virginia Tech defensive end Chris Ellis sacks Boston College quarterback Matt Ryan. Ryan threw scoring passes of 16 and 24 yards in the game's final 2:11 to bring Boston College back from a 10-0 deficit.

BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Put that comeback at the top of Matt Ryan's Heisman resume.

Ryan threw a 24-yard touchdown pass on the run and across the field to Andre Callender with 11 seconds left and No. 2 Boston College remained undefeated with an improbable 14-10 victory over No. 8 Virginia Tech last night.
Ryan sealed his status as a serious Heisman Trophy contender with two touchdown passes in the final 2:11 after doing little for the first 55 minutes against the Hokies' swarming defense.
Boston College, 4-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, moved to 8-0 for the first time since 1942 and validated itself as a national title contender.
