Pleased with the hire of Ime Udoka. Frankly, he's more qualified for a head coach position in the NBA than Brad Stevens was when he got the job.

Cut his teeth working for "Pop" in San Antonio and spent time as an assistant for Team USA. Relatively young (43) and played in the NBA as well.

He's the first Nigerian head coach in the NBA, another "first" in diversity for the Celtics. Maybe someone can explain that to Kyrie Irving? :roll1:

Dennis Schroder pokes fun at his decision to pass on $84 million Lakers contract on Instagram

Schroder signed a one-year, $5.9 million deal with the Celtics

Dennis Schroder is, in all likelihood, wealthier than anyone reading this story. He just finished a four-year contract he signed with the Atlanta Hawks that paid him roughly $70 million, and even if he hadn't, the one-year, $6 million deal he signed with the Boston Celtics is more than most of us will earn in our lifetimes. Yet as free agency progressed and his options dwindled, basketball fans mercilessly mocked him for a decision that cost him significantly more money.

During the season, the Los Angeles Lakers reportedly offered Schroder a four-year contract extension worth up to $84 million, the most they could legally pay him. Schroder rejected that offer hoping that a strong playoff run on a championship contender could help make him even more on the open market. The move backfired. Schroder was held scoreless in Game 5 of the first round against the Phoenix Suns, a series the Lakers eventually lost. He ultimately couldn't find a suitable long-term deal, so he had to take the taxpayer mid-level exception from the Boston Celtics.

On Wednesday, Schroder finally acknowledged that decision in a self-deprecating Instagram post. "I'm gonna do this ONE time!" Schroder wrote in the caption of a picture of him with two of his expensive cars. "Insert your best "fumbled the bag" joke here."

I wish I lived in a state where I can bet on sports, rather than having to drive 50 miles to do it. I'd have dropped 10 bucks on that just for shits & giggles.

Then again, maybe not having the temptation of live, in-game betting is a blessing in disguise. :lol:

Isnt it changing in Ohio at the end of the year? They already have about 20 apps or companies ready to launch in Ohio.

I can tell you all about the time I turned $20 into $1,760 on a six-team parley in Vegas, thanks to Kevin Durant (then of the Texas Longhorns) making a bunch of free throws late to cover the final game (Durant's only win in March Madness). I put that cash in my pocket and left for the airport an hour earlier than originally planned.

Just don't ask me about the losses. :lol:

Only Henri Richard, Montreal Canadians (NHL) equals his record of 11 (NFL, MLB, NBA, or NHL) championships.

Russell led the Celtics' dynasty of the late 1950s and 1960s, including a span of eight consecutive NBA Finals wins from 1959 through 1966. He retired after leading the C's to a Game 7 win over the rival Lakers in the 1969 NBA Finals. It was his 11th championship in 13 pro seasons. He was player/coach for Boston's titles in 1968 and 1969.

Richard was a key player on the dominant Canadiens teams of the 1950s and 1960s, including five consecutive Stanley Cup wins from 1956 through 1960.

“I don’t think I’d get it lasered off because it’s part of me,” Bienvenue told The Athletic before Game 3. “If they end up losing and then they win like next year, after they win I could get it corrected. Get the two lasered off and get a three.”

Bienvenue, an 18-year-old graduate of Cape Cod Technical High School, first got the tattoo back on March 21. At the time, the Celtics had ascended from the depths of the Eastern Conference to take control of the fourth seed, positioning themselves for a potential playoff run.

Gotta say….I don’t understand this AT ALL.

Suspended for an entire season? I can’t see why he would be reprimanded to begin with, let alone a whole season?

Does he seem like a no good cheater? Yeah sure. But is that criminal in nature? I just don’t see it.
