Bonus time

I'm not sure what's happening for us this year. I started this job full time last year on December 1, after working part time evenings and weekends for about six weeks before that.

Last year, with my last paycheck before Christmas, I was handed a very generous cash bonus. People who had been here longer obviously got much more, but I was floored by the generosity given the short period of time I'd been here.

Payday came and went yesterday with nothing, though. I don't know if that means there will be nothing this year, or if something will be done next week at our holiday party. I know I shouldn't expect anything, but the precedent was set pretty high last year...

Wow. I just gave out cash bonuses to some of my employees and am floored by the responses. This is definately my favorite time of the year and to give an unexpected windfall just lights up my day. Our secretary just came into my office with tears in her eyes and gave me a hug telling me how much she needed it and really hadn't expected it.

It's good to be the President :)

What kind of company do you run or can you say w/o giving uo too much info? You sound like a good person. Some business owners/president/ceos just dont get it, but it sounds like you do.....

Good news though, the reason there are no bonuses is because the entire United States operations is being shut down!

not really....I can do my job anywhere that has power and the internet, so they could pay me to work from home if they wanted to.

but I want a new job anyways, so this just gives me a good answer for "So why did you leave your last job?"
