If that were true, it would refute the grossly exaggerated claim that no one will play them. That's because they can. They're a brand name and they'll fill any visiting stadium where they play.
No, it's like Nelly Furtado trying to justify herself to the repo men by claiming no one would tour with her when really only a few turned her down. There are sec teams who won't come north to play OSU, but that doesn't mean Alabama or Tennessee won't do it instead. It's like complaining about The Rolling Stones wanting more money than REO Speedwagon to play at your wedding.

That's probably true. I still don't blame them them for trying to get the best deal possible. You have to strike while the iron's hot and if they can get more money elsewhere they got to go for it.chance;1766114; said:I don't know this for a fact but I am guessing that Nebraska is much like OSU could fill the stadium playing against the little sisters of the poor. This is probably true for a good many of the Big Boys that Boise would like to play.
I remember a few years ago I went back to see some of my cousins in Ohio and they tried to drag me to some lame festival where REO, Styx and Eddie Money was playing. I think that Cheap Trick was making an appearance too. I passes.Dryden;1766116; said:I would pay REO Speedwagon money to leave my wedding.
[censored] that noise.

I liked that music in the 70's and early 80's, not so much now. It didn't age well.TheIronColonel;1766128; said:
Weird Al played at our's last year, sounds like we got the better deal.Dryden;1766143; said:Styx played at our Fairfield County Fair two or three years ago. That's right, grandstand seats for the truck pull and demolition derby cost more than seats for Styx.

I agree. I have Mexican music playing in my house and car 90% of the time. It's actually quite nice if you give it a chance.1997Buckeye;1766182; said:This music talk may need to be split off but I thought I would give my 2 cents.
Music has been going down hill since the early 90's. There is no original thought out there now. All we have are remakes and re-mixes. All genres pretty much suck when it comes to artistry and artistic integrity.
70's music has stood the test of time and 80's music, for all the one-hit-wonders, was refreshing. Now, for the most part, new music is CRAP. The only decent new music tends to be country. I HATE country.
Sounds like a mullet rich environment. I did not know Eddie Money was alive. Last time I saw him on MTV he looked like Shamu wearing a trench coat.DubCoffman62;1766120; said:I remember a few years ago I went back to see some of my cousins in Ohio and they tried to drag me to some lame festival where REO, Styx and Eddie Money was playing. This was possibly ten years ago. At any rate it sounded like a big ball of lameness to me.Gatorubet;1766196; said:Sounds like a mullet rich environment. I did not know Eddie Money was alive. Last time I saw him on MTV he looked like Shamu wearing a trench coat.
