I think that if he and Day are aligned and Day helps with the game plan, but B.O’B call the plays during the game I like the idea of this.

He coordinated two really good bammer offenses and Bryce Young won the Heisman under his tutelage. Looking back at those two Bammer teams, I cannot pinpoint a game where you could really say the offense shit the bed. Maybe against UGA in that NC game, but that was a great UGA defense. QB play under him has been outstanding everywhere he's coached save for the Pats this year, but they were a dumpster fire personnel-wise, so I'm inclined to give him a pass on that one.

I like the hire. Experienced play caller with an excellent resume and frees Day up to be the CEO he should be. I'm more optimistic now than yesterday.

As long as it's Days offense I think it's a good move. Alabama fans seem very frustrated with his play calling. You can't deny the resume. Still meh.

What does this mean for Hartline, if anything?

Not a splash hire, but has a ton of experience and let's Day run his offense through someone he trusts like Kevin Wilson. If he was going to turn over the majority of playcalling for the first time, the hire would have to be someone like this.
