When most of us know the head of that site as a roid-raging lunatic who in one day turned into a born-again christian, it's tough for him to maintain any credibility.

Credibility is what sank that site from the get go and it's a shame b/c they have a couple great resources over there.

Lloydsev was actually the one that really made me not wanna have anything to do with them. He supposedly knew all this stuff, website stuff, you name it. I really dont think he knew any of it. Plus he likes Dell

I personally thought the old DH was a scream. Those old question and answer threads were out of hand and hysterical. I never was able to bridge the gap between DH and Alan, it was SO different.
He did some very good work on the Intel for the '04 class that was very impressive. Dude had scoop all over the place. Worked his ass off. The TW ND firing was great stuff. Hell I encouraged him to give it a go on his own. I just am disappointed that is did not translate to the new website.
No harsh feelings. The premium was never really anything. I do not think that I ever got anything new there. HH hthrew in the occational bone. People were actually PM'ng me and asking me questions. I knew about the Brown's recruitment and why that blew up at the Texas game and people were PM'ing me. Hell I do not know that much.
Disappointed is the best way to sum it up. I always hate to see something appear to fail when it could have been different. Best wishes to them.

No doubt...Alan was all over that one. However, he missed on many more. I'm not going to drag this one out, but if most of his predictions/news came true, tOSU would be receiving the death penalty.

Like I said, sometimes the truth is best....if you don't have the scoop, don't create one. That is the bad part...when you preach about "s/a's" don;t use those kids to make your dollar.

Well keep in mind, as Clarity has said many times..........Vbulletin is fairly simply to configure, and does what you need it to do. If you dont have an experienced web designer, and obviously they do not, you are gonna use what is fairly simple to use, and does what it needs to do. So they are using VB, and it's going to tend to look very similar. While it is quite gay of them to do such, I have a hard time finding any hostility or whatnot in it.

My use of the icon wasn't meant to indicate that they stole Clarity's design or a show of any hostility. Clarity, as you say, addressed that.

However, it is likely that the site design would not be meaningfully different than BP for many visitors. My use of the icon, quite frankly, was to indicate my amazement that anyone would do that and not see the immediate consequences.

I don't know about dishonesty and no one was ever dishonest with me, but I agree with Grad21's comments in that, if all of the breathless "insider" suggestions were true, then we might be well be talking about how OSU sports got the death penalty!

I don't know what happened over there but I know that I resented the breathless revelations of what I perceived to be minute and meaningless details that DH and Alan presented here. I received a PM once that kind of patted me on the head because I "got it" in respect to a recruit signing somewhere else than Ohio State. Some people, I suppose, might really like that...I didn't.

I said it before and I'll say it again....you can't compete with "Allen Wallace" or "Steve Helwagen" or "Bill Kurelic" when your names are Alan and HelpingHand. It sounds fake from the get-go. If you are going to branch out, you have to legitimize yourself. Thus, problems with the vbulletin setup looking borrowed and problems with the lack of professionalism in the appearance.

I never believed there was a need for ANOTHER Buckeye site after O-Zone, BSB, Bnuts, BPlanet, and all the other smaller things out there. Not as a financial endeavor, anyway.
