Big Ten Power Rankings

You also have to acknowledge that Corperryale Harris had the game of his life, probably trying to show Bo what he was missing as a former Badger recruit. (True.) Beilein is a good coach (False), Michigan is talented (albeit young) (True), you have to realize they're capable of playing pretty good games (True).
I'm amazed at everyone who keeps insisting that Beilein is a good coach. The Weasels are 5-and-14. If Matta were coaching that team, they would be about 14-5.

Should of waited till september...
The weather I left (60s to 70s) and what I returned to (10s to 20s) says otherwise.

Yeah, September would be nice. Still possible.

I did manage to get no less than 1 comment a day about Ohio State from complete strangers... Only 1 of which was bad, and it was from a Michigan State fan at a Starbucks  Even got an O-H at the La Brea tar pits. I figured it was Thomps. (By that I mean it sounded like a woman)

Ok guys once again try and get the rankings in anytime between now and Monday during the day...I will post them sometime monday night...

We saw some good games today...We also saw that maybe Wisky isn't a better team than MSU and IU had a bad loss, even tho out of conference...We are looking at a 5 team race for the big ten right now...

All but IU have a lose, but IU hasn't hit the tough stretch yet...Wisky got knocked off by Purdue, so you have to figure that Purdue has a chance, and our only losses were on the road to two teams that were above us and we played horribly in both games...If we win our next 3 games and have confidence when IU comes to town we can get right back into the race...

After watching IU yesterday, if teams can hold Gordon down which is no easy task, and they have size inside they can shut IU down...

I think Wisky can do that with their size and Michael Flowers playing defense, same with MSU with Walton playing D, and same with us playing Gordon with Lighty, Turner, and Butler then add in we have size to slow down DJ white and IU can lose some games, and I no longer think they are going to run away with the conference...

I dunno, it's looking like a five team race at the moment.

IU 6-0
UW 6-1
PU 6-1
MSU 5-1
OSU 5-2

Everyone else is 3-5, or worse.

.
Totally agree regarding Indiana. I do not think that their backcourt is that strong when it comes to ballhandling and if someone has the size to negate DJ I think that they can be beaten.

I was finally impressed with Purdue yesterday but they were playing at home. They really took Wisconsin out of their game with the tough man-to-man defense. However, I want to see them play some tough teams away from home.

I now think MSU goes back to the top with Indiana, Wisconsin, Purdue , and hopefully Ohio State waiting for the championship. The other 6 teams just are not very good. Feel bad for PSU and Claxton.

Wow, what an understatement. They blow chunks (though I do not include Minnesota in that category; as hard as they play for Tubby, the Goophers are likely to finish close to .500 in the conference - say, 8-and-10 maybe?).

I'm with you, Litlbuck, on the Nittany Lions. They were at least mediocre with Claxton, and I loved the energy he brought. Penn State seems to have lost its spark in his absence. Now they are as dreadful as the rest of the bottom-feeders.

My rankings this week:

1. MSU - almost by default. Michigan State wouldn't lose to UCONN at home.

2. Indiana - To be an elite team, you have to protect your home court. IU also showed a bad habit of having to rely on one person alone in the loss to UCONN.

3. Purdue - They've beaten Wisconsin and Ohio State. That's enough to put them here for now. Whether they stay here or not remains to be seen.

4. Wisconsin - Talk about a team that can't handle success, Wisconsin was on a roll, had a chance to resume their momentum after a shaky game against Michigan and found a way to lose to Purdon't. Now they have Indiana up next which should be a pretty good game.

5. Ohio State - Steadily improving, taking care of who they should beat and finding a way to use people on their bench more and more. Next step is to beat someone with a pulse on the road. That chance comes on February 26th.....

6. Minnesota - Minnesota had their chance this week to move into the upper tier of the Big Ten but their lack of overall skill is killing them. Still with Tubby at the helm, this program has direction again.

7. Penn State - Started strong and looked like someone who could at least play king maker but in the end it's same old Penn State.

8. Illinois - Not a good team and not a year away either. Sometimes these guys play well and others it looks like a high school team out there.

9. Iowa - Actually improving at this point. They might knock off someone at a crucial moment and cost someone a regular season Big Ten championship.

10. scUM - If they could have beaten Wisconsin they obviously would have moved up. But in reality they were playing so far above their heads that it was amazing they were even in that game.

11. Northworstern - I just wonder if any of their players would be used off of the bench with any of the Big 3 (Indiana, Wisconsin or Michigan State)....my guess is no.
