I just got BTN on Comcast here in Philly. Awww, yeah!

They sent me a new channel lineup sheet earlier this month and it said they'd start BTN on the 15th. I was just holding my breath, but now...



I used to hate Comcast. And now, I'm their biggest fan! This is going to be the first time I get to watch (as opposed to listen or read about) every game in real-time since I finished up at tOSU.

For the BTN newbies, here are some upcoming OSU "games" you might want to record on the BTN. Sept 18, North Carolina St-2003(3 OT's), Oct 28-OSU wins at Stanford, Nov 13th, Illinois 2002(another OT thriller), Nov 20th, 1974 Scum game(defensive struggle).

Another "must see" for BTN newbies is the OSU Open Practice, next showing Saturday at 9pm.

As nice as it is to have the Big 10 network outside of one football game, the practice special and a few basketball games I never watch it.

What a classic that was. 54-51, right? I went to NU, but happened to be at home visiting my parents that weekend. I just about died watching that game and knowing I was missing out on attending the best game of my 4 years. My buddies got front row tickets, and even got a picture taken of them that ended up on the ticket guide the next season. Including the guy that I gave my ticket to

I'm still kind of bitter about this, as you can tell. Oh well, NU will do it again in about 100 years or so.

OSU beat the Golphers 9-3 in 1976, I'm guessing that was 3 FG's but could have been a safety involved..

I'm still considering switching to Direct TV.

After looking at what they have to offer, it appears there's two channels including the BTN along with a handful of other sports channels that I'd get that I don't already have. Also, a plus, is that there aren't any channels I really like that I'd lose (or at least any that I would cry like a baby over! <G>).

They (Direct TV) has a special right now...4 months free...if you buy NFL Ticket (~$75/mth). It appears as though the premier package is normally $104, but haven't been able to confirm that as of yet.

I really don't want to have to go through the hassle of ordering DTV stuff, waiting on someone to come do the install, watching them drill holes in my house, etc...but...if TW doesn't get their act together, BTN won't be here.

'Course I can do like I did last year. "Hey mom! I'm coming over for lunch with the Buckeyes!".

They dont have to drill holes anymore. They can mount your dish on a tripod and use a flat wire to go through a window or door that will allow your door or window to still close without messing the wire up. My dish is on my condo patio and I use two of the wires through the patio door. Zero problems thus far, 6 months in. I love the Dish and havent had any problems except the occasional reset.

Anybody have the latest news with TW and the Big Ten Network? My girl is getting tired of me taking up a lot of space on her tivo between the Big Ten and NFL Network since she has Dish Network and my stubborn *ss sticks with TW. Too much of a optimist I guess.
