Just got done activating my DirecTV account. If the customer service department at DirecTV and Time Warner were chicks who's looks were based on there level of helpfulness this is what they would look like..

Found out about two days ago that I have BTN on Comcast Sports Package in Atlanta, GA. Great news considering I would be stuck watching Vandy v. south Carloina on Jefferson Pilot or whatever is on ESPN or SECBS instead of being able to see tOSU play, as well as other Big Ten teams. I tried to stream the tOSU spring game from the BTN website but it failed badly, don't know for sure if I could had it on BTN at the time.

(not like it will make a difference) I sent TW a nasty email earlier this week giving them Monday as my deadline for jumping to DirecTV. Hopefully they will realize that this year they are going to lose a bunch of customers if they don't get the deal done. Tick Tock

I really dont want to switch, but if they dont have this deal done by the first game then I will be on the phone with Direct TV

All of you guys who are new to the BTN I hope you read the fine print.

There is some sort of contractual agreement that requires the BTN to replay the 2007 Illinois vs OSU game at least once every 24 hours.

Enjoy.

Latest news from Time Warner...
Thank you for contacting Time Warner Cable.
Time Warner Cable remains in negotiations with Big Ten Network. We understand that you are interested in BTN and ask for your continued patience during these negotiations.
Negotiations have been progressing, and we hope to secure an agreement that offers the best and fairest terms for our customers. We want to insure that we keep our core pricing as low as possible, and that?s a primary focus of the ongoing negotiations.
A recent deal between Comcast and the Big Ten Network looks promising.
While we do not know all of the terms of the Comcast/Big Ten Network agreement, we believe this is a positive development, as Comcast reportedly had similar concerns regarding cost and channel location
While it is true that some providers have come to agreements with the Big Ten Network, we are still negotiating to get the best value for our customers. Time Warner Cable is currently negotiating with the Big Ten Network to work out an agreement that will allow us to provide its programming at the fairest price to our sports-loving customers.

Sincerely,
Tim

First day of having BTN.

You're right, Illinois @ Ohio State is scheduled for 7pm tonight. Great...

Yes, it can be irksome that they play that game so much.

But to be honest with you, I take it as a compliment.

When a game ends with an 8-minute-non-scoring possession, it can hardly be said that the game will go down as the most compelling in football history.

Yet the BtN named it their "Game of the Year" and plays it more often than any other game.

The only thing that made it the GotY was that it was against the Buckeyes.

IIRC, no Buckeye victory was among the BTN's "10 best games of 2007". And that is as it should be. We were favored in every Big Ten game we played last year.

Beating Ohio State is treated as big news because it's happened twice in the past three seasons of Big Ten play. It IS big news.

OSU victories may be gems to us, but they are grains of sand on the beach to the rest of the world.
