Just this Suzy Creamcheese cheerleader voice about how excited they were to announce that, "as of today, we're providing all our Buckeye fans with the Big Ten Network, blah, blah, blah" Gee, we're all so giddy we almost soiled our cheerleader shorts.... and then "...beginning Wednesday," which has now become Saturday as soon as they figure out where to move 7 religious channels, 10 shopping networks, NASCAR, Deer Park city council and re runs of shows I didn't watch the first time around. It's a real test of faith that BTN will really show up in time to bring us Saturday's game.

Do you have any more details about those soiled cheerleader shorts?

I'm just asking.

Hey now, Deer Park City Council takes a back seat to nobody. NOBODY!

How is it that I could call a friend across the country and ask them to set up a Slingbox with a BTN feed, and be watching it in a matter of moments, yet it takes one of the most powerful media corporations in the country nearly a week after reaching an agreement with the network to do virtually the same thing?
and people wonder whats wrong with america these days...

harry truman would have just dropped a couple of nukes and that would have solved that...

things I wish I'd never posted, "...three PBS stations..."

Oh well, :oh:

Hey we watch PBS a lot here and we lost our Baltimore station. Direct TV has a lock on Baltimore local stations. So we only get 2 now. One out of DC and the other out of Northern Virginia with Dish. We always preferred the Baltimore one but oh well we get BTN now.

Alt Plans

For those of you waiting for BTN to be added to your lineup in lieu of the blue screen of death... just a thought...

Have alternative plans if you want to see the game.

No inside information here... just a complete lack of faith that it will be pulled together.

Just saying...

If this would happen, it would be ugly, especially in the Columbus area. TW would probally need to have 24/7 police protection outside the offices.

That's what I was thinking as well. Back a few years ago I was told (dish network) that I'd be able to pick up the early season tOSU games that were being broadcast on MSGN (that'd be Madison Square Garden Network) on a PPV basis. Needless to say, I didn't make alternative plans and spent the day pissing off my wife.

Frankly... I'd hate to see so many fellow BP-ers get hosed. Not to mention the complete exp-frick'n-losion that would his this thread...

First of all -- :io::io:

WARNING: OLD GEEZER WAR STORY FOLLOWS.

Fall of 1970 and I'm the assistant operations officer for 636th Transportation Brigade, Army Reserve, operating out of Ft. Hayes. I present the new CO, a VPI (now Va Tech) grad, just moved in from Richmond to work at DCSC, with our training schedule showing drill on the second Saturday in November.

"Why do you have us drilling on the 2nd weekend in November instead of the third?"
"Because that's the Michigan game, Sir."
"Nonsense. We drill on the third weekend every month and that's when we'll drill in November."
"Begging the Colonel's pardon, but you won't have anyone show up, Sir."

We argued back and forth until he pulled rank and insisted I change the schedule.

On the third Saturday of Novemeber, 1970 he showed up, myself and four other staff officers and the Sergeant Major and a handful of troops showed up. The switchboard could not handle all the calls of guys coughing and sneezing into the phone to tell us they were too sick to make it. We were dismissed at noon and I was told not to schedule drill on the third Saturday in November the next year, "Captain, I had no idea this was such a big deal."

C'est la guerre.

Right now I'm avoiding the blue screen by re-playing DVDs of each of ND's losses last year and the 95 - 96 games and the Fiesta Fiasco to be followed on Friday by the Michigan 2000 series. Come on Bucks, open up another can of Wolverine Whoop Ass!

I checked my local Channel 24 today at lunch. No more TW Digital On-Demand Previews. No more "Speed Network."

Now it's just an SMPTE Color Pattern.

Knowing that tonight it will probably be Gerry DiNardo, I think I'll enjoy the color bars today while they're there.
