Dream two: Texas and Notre Dame

Epic battles in both football and basketball. Revenue that would dwarf other conferences. Tradition coming out of our ears.

Dream four: Texas, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, and Maryland

Thinking the latter two are turning corners that not only keep them in the academic and athletic profile of the Big Ten at the moment but for many years to come.

Notre Dame, Boston College, Syracuse and one from Maryland, Rutgers or Missouri.

Texas is still the perfect fit in a perfect world. They just bring way too much entitlement and baggage with them.

No desire whatsoever to see the Big Ten expand into the South.

I'm on record as saying I think Florida and Georgia would be the desirable first pair of invitees - they're not listed. I see the potential meltdown of the SEC in the wake of the Cam Newton fiasco as possibly allowing that to happen. Both schools completely fulfill the mission of the Big Ten in a way none of the menu choices above do.

Two more? Then I'd like to see North Carolina and one more selected from the list below.

Duke
Vanderbilt
UVa
VaTech
Texas (yes, I still think they're an excellent fit)

I'd vote for no more expansion...

I've got to say I'm in this boat

As intriguing as it is to add some new opponents to the schedule, there comes a point where it gets so big it defeats the purpose.

I mean the IDEA of having a conference is that you actually PLAY the teams in your conference. In football we already miss 2 teams a year, make it 3 next season (unless u happen to get a new opponent in the Big Ten championship game). The only reason to expand really is the cash, from a competitive standpoint why would we want a 16 team league where you miss almost half the opponents in your own conference in a given year. Pretty soon you have to institute "The Big Ten championship series" in order to determine who gets to play in the conference title game.

I'd be interested in seeing Rutgers, Syracuse, Pittsburgh and Missouri get an invitation. I'd also accept Virginia or Maryland for any of the aforementioned. I like the diversity of the additional markets, they are all AAU certified, research oriented and would be an asset to the Big Ten and CIC.

Dream 4: Texas, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Florida

Can't think of four other teams that would carry more baggage than those four individually. I'd love to get Florida, despite there being a 0% chance of convincing them to join. They're the only team I hate in the same sort-of stratosphere as TSUN.

Very open minded still on who I think will join though, so I will hold my vote for the time being.
