As details keep emerging, I'm fairly convinced that Don Beebe believes he's Gus Hansen. Ample talk, never has any numbers.

In the long run, I think it'd be a good idea for the MWC to add Fresno State and/or Houston, possibly even Nevada as well. I think for football they are above-average to very strong teams and can help solidify their eventual bid into the BCS. What do you guys think?

I've been thinking the same thing. Nevada and Fresno State are the obvious ones to me, and the WAC should probably start looking for replacements for those two now. The WAC had 9 with Boise State so they'll be down to 8, could lose schools like Nevada and Fresno St, and could lose Louisiana Tech, who isn't thrilled with all of the travel they have to do. Unfortunately for La Tech, beggers can't be choosers and the Sun Belt is their only hope.

Hey don't be so harsh. Beebe told me you could get back in if you agree to give all your money to Texas and not complain when they put as much time on the clock as is needed for a Longhorn win. What do you think?

As tempting as that might be, I think we will pass. I like the fact that 85% of the officials aren't from Texas, the Big 10 office hasn't had pressure to move to Dallas and oh yea, the Big 10 CCG won't be in Dallas, even though they promised this would rotate every year. I'm sure if they conned is into coming back they might think of a way to give us ISU's money as well. Funny thing is ISU would probably vote to give it away.

Either Kansas doesn't understand the deal it made or Beebe was talking out of his ass...

This deal is hanging together by chewed gum, duct tape, and an Aggy jizz jar.

At first glance this looks and sounds like extortion, but then it wasn't so very long ago that Northwestern "sold" it's home game with the Buckeyes to play in Cleveland's Memorial Stadium.

In other news... Utah has been invited to the Pac-10. Will be in South division. Presser tomorrow at 1 PM MDT.

Pac-10 invites Utah; source says Utes to accept - ESPN

Pac-10 North: Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State, Cal, Stanford
Pac-10 South: USC, UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, Colorado

Disappointing that it's not the California+Arizona schools together, but here's hoping Utah wins the south in 2011 when USC's still on probation.

The funny thing is, Utah could end up being the best football team in the PAC 10 at this point.
