private catholic school not named ND probably eliminates them.I think BC makes alot of sense.
*further expansion to East Coast
*excellent academics
*competitive in both FB and MBB
*fucks the ACC
*not overly threatening to traditional conference power teams
*B1G would now have two of ND's traditional three rivals
And Texas wonders why they are going to be stuck in a dead-end conference.

We're bringing OU along and you're going to accept that, and......oh yeah......we'll be sitting at the head of the table too.
And West Virginia would bolt for the SEC, B1G or even the ACC in 2 seconds if any of them came calling. The Big XII was clearly their last choice of the 5 power conferences (Well, the PAC was probably too far for them, but they'd probably bolt for them too)It's amusing that they still can't cope with the how and why Nebraska left (quickly followed by CU).
They actually think Nebraska lost stature by joining the B1G... but last I checked, UN was already a 9-win 2nd tier team on auto-pilot in a weak division... they're still a 9-win 2nd tier team on auto-pilot in a weak division.
I'm not sure where they got the idea that Michigan is running the show... sounds like BWI. Michigan has been blowing chunks since 2006.
And of course the real reason Nebraska left is b/c nobody in the B1G is unilaterally calling the shots (well, maybe Delany sometimes). Ohio State is (currently, knock on wood) the primetime performer and money earner... but the structure of the conference across the board (including BTN and CIC) is very egalitarian. It helps that they're all very similar institutions (NW and Chicago only privates, Neb only subpar academically, all massive research budgets and even active private has a sizable enrollment).
As opposed to the Little2's hodgepodge randomness, increasing focus on insular religious institutions, all the instability introduced by LHN, and the general unilateral way that Texas in particular approaches the Conference.
Nebraska and CU saw the writing on the wall and left. Missouri and TAMU were quick to follow. As much as we all like to make fun of TAMU's weirdness... those were 4 of the most stable institutions in the BXII. Replaced by a religious mid-major and WVU on a geographic island. Now the core is TTech, Kansas, KState, Oklahoma State and Iowa State. Impressive cadre of yes-men and mediocrity (not just athletically) right there.
The only question is how long it takes for the PAC to snag somebody like TTech and start the process once again. For as bad as the ACC is (worse athletically and very low tv deals compared to their peer conferences)... their structure is more stable than LHN Conference.
Rutgers and Maryland know their place. If they just piss off PSU and UM by beating them and not shaking their hands, I'd love to keep them around. The Corn are getting a little uppity. Talking about kicking out founding members so they can bring their old Big 8 rivals into the conference. Wanting their fellow non-AAU member Oklahoma invited because Iowa and Wisconsin are not worthy rivals. Somebody needs to remind them who gave them shelter when they came banging on our door to escape big, bad, mean Texas. And what was our thanks? Crappy football and the embarrassment of having them kicked out of the AAU.
Christ, haven't we gone through this before. How long until RU and MD start acting like they should be running the place.
That's rich. Nebraska isn't exactly tearing it up against those teams since joining the conference. The Corn are getting a little uppity. I see it as a when not if sorta thing. uC offers mediocrity in a variety of sports, they'd fit right in.Hope the juggalo thing doesn't happen. That university does NOT deserve UT and OU coming into Ohio to play ever few years. Can you imagine the [Mark May] that will blow out of their collective piehole (and I mean the university and its president too) if they're playing Texas on a week where we have Indiana or Rutgers?
The best thing for Juggalo State is for them to continue wandering the back alleys of college football with their bag of cheeseburgers and eager mouth.
