I can't believe that any conference would want to take WVU over Missouri.

:slappy:

Why not?

The SEC is not operating on the same model as the Big Ten.

The attention paid to last week's game against LSU proves WVU's value. Would people have cared as much about an LSU-Missouri matchup?

A post here from tigerdroppings.com from some LSU fans that were at the game. Many comments agreed. The fan base doesn't seem to match up to the SEC.

More thoughts on WVU/Morgantown/this weekend

Number 20......After experiencing the WVU fan base, I have no urge to return to the campus of WVU and would be against playing them again OOC or welcoming them into the SEC.

Conference expansion isn't about where people want to go on road trips. It's about what people want to watch on TV. Of course nobody wants to actually go back to Morgantown, WV or hang out with anybody from there. But a bunch of people who otherwise wouldn't have cared to watch LSU play last week tuned in because they were playing an interesting opponent. That's the point.

C-USA and MWC talking merge: 22 to 24 teams, winner of each would meet to determine champion and hopefully get BCS berth.

Good idea. The remainder of the smaller conferences like the MAC and Sun Belt need to merge and create another super-conference.

Eventually, it'd make for a very effective 8 team playoff: Four teams from the super conferences, two non-BCS schools, and two at-larges playing the non-BCS for a berth.

Teams like Ohio U, Troy, East Carolina, and Colorado State have no business playing for a national championship, regardless of which mid-minor conference they are playing in. Merging two crappy conferences increases quantity, not quality. I don't mind an eight-team playoff, but let's leave the children out of the equation.

If they win their conference, playoff games, then title game they deserved it. Unlike now, where they're voted in.

I agree with this. Show me a few years where they get trashed in the playoff in a row and I'll buy in to it that they don't deserve it. Postseason should apply to everyone in this subdivision. If it doesn't, there needs to be a new subdivision.
