Interesting how Osborne talks about how straight up Nebraska has been through the process. That they acted independently and forced no one elses hand in the conference. That they informed the Big 12 of their intentions and only dealt with one other conference...that being the Big 10. I like the way they've handled themselves.

he actually said that atm is big enough to stand on their own and don't need to be piggy backed.

I really believe that the aggy BOR is split on this. Stallings is fighting hard for the SEC but there are others that want to stay with their traditional rivals.

Stallings going public like that though would seem to indicate that he's on the dominate side of the BOR though, no?

It'd seem horribly foolish to make the statements he just made if they weren't already discussed between the board and agreed upon already.

well, no one is shutting him up so that says something. Then again, he is a 75 year old man that coached Alabama to a MNC, who in the hell is he really going to listen to?

Tom Osborne is a person with a great class.

I freakin love it... this is total chaos. C-USA is going raiding, whats next, A10 raiding the Big East & ACC?

in all seriousness, I will be very interesting to study the rampant rumor mongering, its pure chaos theory.

---6/11 Afternoon update: Texas and A&M are in contact with and negotiating with the Big Ten and presumably other conferences. My friend is in the middle of it, and told me that Texas is playing the "we don't want to join a conference that just broke our conference up" card. Also,

It is clear that there is internal division within Texas. Some are pretty emotional. There is anger that the Big Ten broke up their conference. Clearly others within Texas involved in the Texas push to the Big Ten.

Delaney broke the seal with Nebraska. Big Ten confident that less emothional heads will prevail, and Texas will realize the Big Ten offers the best package for Texas and college football as a whole.

Definite change of expectation that everything will shake out today. General surprise and excitement that Nebraska has gone to Big Ten.

This is awesome to watch!
