For any of you that've been too busy following expansion news to look in on other goings-on today, word out of Detroit is that Izzo has called a closed door meeting with his players today, no doubt to give them 6 million (and 23) reasons why he has to say 'Goodbye.' I don't think he'd move if LeBron wasn't coming back.

What a week! No more Izzo in the conference. Nebraska moves to the Big Ten. The Big XII implodes. Notre Dame finally gets bitch-slapped by a Big East commissioner with the balls to salvage his conference. USC gets hammered with penalties.

I'm going to sit down and enjoy a whiskey and cigar tonight.

The ONLY reason this works for Texas is if the PAC-10 is willing to treat them as more than an equal partner and will make concessions that the Big 10 will not.

This. But don't we think current Pac-10 members may disapprove of this? It stands to reason that it would be similar to what is in place now in both conferences and it is based on television appearances. UT and OU being two timezones closer to the east coast would likely mean more television exposure. Surely current Pac-10 members aren't stupid enough to let them immediately take the reigns in their conference. Pac-10 teams would get shafted hard here.

The Pac-10 desperately needs the texas time zone & ratings to have any chance at a semi-decent TV revenue stream (but nothing like the B10's building).

The big ten's peerless revenue stream has the potential to double without adding either Texas school.

In the big 16, we already have the lions share, and would let Texas share in it.
In the pac 16, Texas is only semblance of a lions share.
